we were originally planning to go in may 2010 toward the middle/late of the month. i wanted to avoid too many crowds, but also have good weather AND a low chance of ride shutdowns and have more shows. so may really DOES seem like the best time to go. but i havent been there in 10 years, and it was always a bi-yearly tradition so this time wait sucks! we were disussing going ealier like feb-march but i dont know much about the weather in anaheim at that time and also am wondering if there will be any ride shutdowns for refurb and less shows. does anyone know a great time to go around EARLY 2010? or is it worth waitn till may to get what i want out of our trip? its just, that 3 months seems SOOO much sooner! lol. thanks for helpin me decide!

May is a good time, some things may still be down but its a crap shoot really. I have gone in April and loved it . May to and it was pretty good to.

hmm. does any one know when spring break usually is? im thinkin march, but i wanna go b4 spring break. is that in march or april? hopefully the end of march or april lol?

In my opinion, I would think that the spring break season for DL probably lasts from mid-March through the end of April. Anytime before spring break you will still be in a questionable time for weather, refurb and will most definitely have a reduced entertainment and hours schedule at the park. If it were me, I would choose post-spring break and stick with the May plan. That time of year is very nice at DLR.

our spring break is the second week in march and we will be there that whole week :) hope everything is up and running but you never know :)

I'm not sure why you want to switch dates from May:
-Nice weather
-Crowds are relatively low because kids are still in school
-Not many refurbs because it's almost summer
-Slightly longer hours probably, but nighttime entertainment will still only be on weekends probably

to Late February/Early March:
-Questionable weather
-Low crowds also
-High chance of major refurbs
-Definitely shorter hours = nighttime entertainment only on weekends

I know it's a long time to wait, but a couple months more isn't that horrible.

it is a long time when you need a vacation as much as we do! 10 years is long.

It is a long time. But when it's been that long I'm sure you want that vacation to be great! And May would suit your needs better than march. Like others have said if you go pre spring break you are risking worse weather, refurbs and little on the entertainment schedule. I have been in may and would certainly do it again. But only you can truly make this decision for your family.
