Should I freak out now and worry about this hurricane coming from the south? After planning this trip for 8 months am I going to be disappointed? Will it rain every day? We leave tomorrow. Need some reassurance please. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :furious: :furious: :furious: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: .

All i can say is im saying some heavy prayers that Ernesto will fade away. This is def a sad week for us on the gulf coast and this is all we need for something like this to hit us this week of all weeks. Good luck! Lets all do the "go away hurricane dance"

Ps when i looked at the news a little while ago .. it looked like it was aiming for AL/MS/LA line for sometime around Wed. GO and have a GREAT TIME!

This morning it has shifted back more towards Florida.

Florida looks like the most recent target.

I was just at the Weather Channel site and the path has definitely shifted from yesterday's. Western steering currents are pushing it more northward, away from the Gulf states and onto Florida. I'm supposed to fly in on Friday for a wedding, so I'm watching this carefully! If I were already going to be at Disney, I wouldn't worry too much. It rains for a day, they keep you at your hotel and provide some entertainment, then the next day everything is pretty much back to normal.

We were there last year when Katrina hit and mostly it was just some rain. It never stopped us from going on rides and enjoying the park. It was just with a rain poncho. Keep my fingers crossed for you. :sunny:

Katrina did not have the same forecasted path as Ernesto. I would just keep track of the weather, and if it stays on the same path - expect strong winds and rain as it passes over the peninsula. Listen to what the WDW staff instructs you to do, and you might want to have some extra food and water in your room in case you have to stay in your room for a while as the storm passes over.

Try not to worry too much. We were there for hurricane Charlie that hit Orlando two years ago and we really only missed about a half day of activities. We swam in the pool most of the day while it was "coming" (they closed the parks early in anticipation of the storm), it hit around 8 or 9 at night and by morning the parks were back open and almost everything was cleaned up! I don't know how they did it! AK was closed that day, but the other three parks were up and running.

We were also there a little over a year ago (if memory serves me correctly) when Hurricane Jeanne hit. It was a level 2 storm and the parks were closed for a day so we missed one day of fun and had to stay cooped up in the hotel until the storm passed. Disney really took care of their guests, even provided meals (you had to pay for of course!) in the hotel. We were in a DVC villa and had stocked up on some food so we were able to make do with what we had bought at the grocery store.

Disney even put the campground folks up in a hotel somewhere for the day.

Anyway, it wasn't bad. I wouldn't worry about if it's not hitting on your actual travel day. Worst case scenerio you'll miss out on a day of fun. Hopefully it doesn't hit Florida at all though.
