I just got a new car yesterday... And i am really thinking about driving now... But with the gas prices i dont know...

Should i fly.. But if i fly i still have to rent a car and pay for gas... But if i drive i just have to pay for gas..

What to do...

Some other things to factor into your decision;
  • How long will it take you to drive vs fly?
  • Do you want to use vacation days driving to your vacation, or on your vacation?
  • Remember, flying is safer than driving

I am a petrified flier. I avoided it for over 25 years. With that being said, I flew twice to Orlando last year but over Easter DH and I decided to drive from Chicago as we have done about 10 times before. Well, I just booked us round trip tickets for when we return next month because the drive was terrible for us.

The weather cooperated but it is an 18 hour drive. We spent the night in Georgia going there so that cost us. Then there was the meals we ate along the way and the stops for gas, and bathroom breaks.

Coming home was worse. We drove straight through to home. not spend the night anywhere. We saw many accidents along the way. The driving seemed to never end and when we got home my legs were swollen to nearly twice their size due to all the sitting.
I don't think I can stand another drive like that in my lifetime so I am just going to have to suck it up and fly. In 2 hours, I'm there and happy.

If we lived less than 10 hours away we would drive but since we live much further than that, we will fly.

I live in jersey... So my drive wouldnt be too bad... And we are going in july...i have family in va so staying somewhere along the way is not too bad either...if i can get airfare for 149.00 round trip for my dh and i like i did last year than i will fly... But i guess if i dont i will drive...

I dont know what to do... Do i want to put all those miles on my new car as well...

Highway miles are very easy on your car. The only downside is that you wind up putting a quick little dent in you miles left until your warranty runs out.

For some people the deciding issue is that fact that they may have to take 2 extra days of vacation.

Either flying or driving are good choices.............

Which method puts you more at ease?
