We sail in just about 2 weeks and I was wondering if or when we might hear from the concierge about booking anything ahead of time? Should I just make the move and contact them? I don't want to jump the gun here, but I'm getting a little anxious.;)
Any of you Cat 1, 2 & 3 cruisers have any experience with being contacted by the concierge?
I contacted the Grand Floridian Concierge about our Land portion of the trip on my own...and was given no indication from them that they would have called me had I not called first. (and just to add, they have been very little help so far) I'm starting to think that DCL may operate this way also. (I booked through DCL, if that makes any difference)

TIA
Lisa:)

Lisa -

My info is from our Halloween 2001 Cruise so the process may have changed but I called to pre-book excursions on the first possible day (thinking the Golden Eagle and Atlantis Submarine would sell out) through the excursion number. I called the Concierge at the same time frame but she requested that I call back in early October which I did to pre-book our Palo's ressies for dinner and brunch and to request our dining rotation. I would not wait if I were you as I never received a phone call or letter from DCL with contact numbers or instructions as others had received.

This is your dream trip and you have been through a great deal just to get to this point!! Just be sure to attend the Concierge reception and double check all your times and dates when you arrive. Mistakes can happen when staff are trancribing info and it is better to check up front.

I hope you have a great trip and really enjoy this splurge!!

We were on Wonder in April and were never contacted by concierge before our trip. We did however, have a full ship and attended the reception in the lounge shortly after boarding and got every ressie we requested. (That may have been luck) but we always got what we asked for. We stay at the Grand Floridian a lot and always stay on the Royal Palm Club Level and in the past years they always sent out letters and would even contact us by phone a few weeks ahead of time to ask what ressies we desired. Seems like the past few times we have been there we were not contacted. If you have ressies you have really thought about and can not miss I would suggest calling as it can not hurt. We will be on Magic in June and will just attend the reception again and hopefully have the same experiences we had before but we are flexible. Good Luck!!!!

There was a number that I called to reserve Palo's and a few things before the cruise. I don't believe I was able to reserve the spa ahead of time. It was nice to not have to worry about all that stuff on the boat. I do believ someone from the spa came to our room to see if we wanted to book something. Ps. Ask for Zita at Palo's she is the best and don't miss the brunch:D

i called the dcl dierectly, the girl that answered the phone had no idea what i was asking, i asked to speek to a supervisor and the next day recieved a call from debbie with the conceirge team.
if you a search on these boards under concierge there is also a phone number that i found and i used a few times to contact them for changes i had.
