Here are 2 photos from May. We had a great lunch there! The pavilion with the volcano steaming in the background is great. And the dark Mexican market feel is great in the middle of a hot day.
The food is not Americanized covered in gloppy cheese. I think that is why people love it or hate it. There is a chain restaurant in my city that is sooooo popular, but, to me, everything there tastes the same. All drowned in sauce and cheese with massive overstuffed burritos and gigantic super sugary bright green margaritas. The wait to get a table at that chain restaurant is insane.
If that's the type of "Mexican" food people are used to, they won't like San Angel.
