Should I Buy Tickets in Advance or from Candy Cane?

Hello, WDW vet here, struggling with her first DL trip!

I am staying at Candy Cane Inn and I'm wondering if it's better to buy my 5-day hoppers ahead of time, or buy them at Candy Cane.

I guess I should ask if Candy Cane even sells them...do they sell ALL types of tix? As I said, we want 5-day hoppers. Mousesavers mentions one ticket place that barely saves you $5 a ticket, so I thought I wouldn't even bother messing with that for such a small discount. I've heard AAA is also a tiny discount and not worth messing with. Is this true or should I go with one of those places?

If I buy at Candy Cane, can I check in and buy them immediately? There's no wait or hold up or anything, right? I can buy them, dump our stuff in the room, and head to the parks, right?

So, should I buy in advance before the trip, or buy at Candy Cane? There's no advantage to buying at Candy Cane vs. buying at the Disney gate, is there?

Thanks!

no, I dont think theres any advantage at buying at CCI vs DL itself...but me myself, regardless of whether a tix is $5 cheaper or not that is still a churro or pretzel or almost a corn dog in the park:rotfl:...so I would go with the pre purchasing and get it through a discount agent..also, may i add that although the tix price on DL.com shows $290...that is not including tax...if you click to check out you will see its more than $5 difference...arestravel.com and getawaytoday.com have the amount with tax included in the price you see

I'm perplexed by this comment about tax. Theme park tickets in California are not taxed. There is a $5 will call charge if you order online and pick up tickets at the ticket booth, but that is not a tax.

OP, Disney is currently charging the same price for tickets whether you buy at the gate or pre-purchase online directly from Disney. The only advantages to buying tickets at CCI would be if they are offering discount tickets or if you are wanting to save time standing in line at the ticket booths, and your best bet in finding out if CCI sells tickets and for how much would be to call the hotel directly. Yes, there are a few places to obtain discounts such as those mentioned by the previous poster, as well as AAA, credit unions, etc. Only you can decide if it's worth it to you to look into any of these for even a small discount, which does seem to be all that's available these days. If you can't purchase discount tickets or decide the extra step isn't worth the savings to you, then for the time savings, your best bet is to buy e-tickets online. Your e-ticket can be taken straight to the turnstile where the CM will trade you a paper ticket that you can use for entry and fastpasses.
