While I know I have a bit of time as our trip is in October, I'm worried that we won't be able to reserve anything as we are getting our tickets through the Disney Arts program (my niece's dance group is supposed to dance at Disney Springs). I do have our hotel reserved, but we won't get our tickets until Early/Mid July (at the earliest).

We're getting a great discount on tickets, but I'm honestly debating I should just pay more through UT (about $150) just to make sure I have tickets on my reservation.

Hard to say since we don't know when they will reinstate outdoor performances (so there's a chance the dance show will be canceled). I thought I saw somewhere that park reservations would open at the 60 day mark - if that's true, then your tickets arriving in July would be on your MDE with plenty of time to be tagged for early reservations at the parks. Would her group still take the trip and be eligible for the discount ticket if they aren't performing? Would you still go if they can't perform?

Also, I don't know if you've checked the UT site since yesterday but their prices are no longer at a discount from what I can see. I had hopped on this morning just to see what the situation was for Disney and universal tickets in the fall - Disney tickets on UT were the same as the price I got from disney direct about a week ago, and Universal tickets were $50 more expensive than buying from Universal direct.

I know they signed a contract for that date, but I'm not sure what all that entails.

If it gets cancelled, I'm honestly not sure if I would go or not. I'd have to really think about it, which I guess answers my question since UT tickets are non-refundable.

I know it's a bit early to think about this trip, but I'm the planner so I try to be as prepared as possible.

Yeah, I think those "contracts" are a lot more about liability, and ensuring groups don't flake out and make Disney look bad. I have a few friends whose kids have danced at DS and I don't remember the agreements offering any protections or guarantees from cancellation of the show (weather cancellations for those shows can happen for hurricanes and such) so I imagine the same would apply here.
