Should I bother with a FP for Illuminations?

Is it worth it to use a FP for Illuminations? Where is the FP viewing area for Illuminations. TIA

I believe the viewing area is between the two gift shops separating FW from WS, and no, I don't think it's worth it since there are plenty of good viewing areas all around the lagoon, plus since it's a tier 1 choice, you wouldn't be able to get one for Soarin' or Test Track.

I really liked the FP viewing area. I was able to grab a FP around 4 PM and thought it was totally worth it, but I don't think I would book it ahead of time. Like siskaren said, you have to skip out on Soarin' or TT, each of which is a better choice to book ahead of time.

Only if Soarin' and Test Track are no longer available. The WS is huge and you can often find spots to view around the lagoon.

Thank you all, I think we will wait until the last minute and maybe get one that day if we have that option. Soarin' will be closed while we are there but I will get a FP for Test Track

We enjoyed it in December, but we were able to snag it as a 4th FP. We used all our FP before lunch in FW and grabbed it before headed to the WS. I wouldn't give up test track for it though!

I really enjoyed watching Illuminations from the FP spot, but I would only use it if I can get it as a 4th or subsequent FP. I was able to do that last month. Here is a pic from the back of the FP area. You can see that there is plenty of space, although many do crowd to the fence in front.

I say no need for fast pass for illuminations almost any where is a good view once the fireworks start
