Should I book our Oct airfare now?

I know it's anyone's call right now but I am really wondering if I should book our airfare for travel in late Oct to WDW.
We only have 1 non-stop flight out of Omaha (and the 1-stop flights are double the time and not much cheaper) and they are running about $324 + bag for a total of $1299 for our family of four. As this is our first trip to WDW, the non-stop is pretty important to us so I don't mind paying a little more for it. That said, I haven't seen anyone post having paid airfares as much as this and I would like to know if I am crazy for paying these prices. We are about 200 days out from arrival. Thanks for any insight.

Hi,

Checking airfare prices is like investing in the stock market! Sometimes you look really smart by waiting, and sometimes, well...not so smart. Sometimes the price will go up, and sometimes it will go down.

Are you a gambler? My opinion is: if you are comfortable with the price now you should book it.

We fly out of Buffalo and find the lowest/best prices about 90 days out. I am holding out to book our September flights.

However, if those flight times/non stops are important to you and you can stomach paying the current price, then it might be worth it for your piece of mind. Everyone is different.

Good luck!

I'd decide what's most important..price or convenience. If you are wide open to flight times/number of stops/ etc. then its easier to play the price-chicken game. If you are going to be happiest with the single available non-stop, then buy it and be done. IMO.

Thanks for the replies. I am leaning towards just booking it now to be done with it as the time of arrival and non-stop flight are pretty important to me. That said, the budgeter in me is telling me that these aren't great prices.

The non-stop flight is with Frontier and I guess my only hesitation would be is that they would suddenly change the flight time and make my non-stop a 1-stop down the line. I would not be a happy camper then.

I am flying in Oct as well, and I am booked. I can't handle the checking game everyday!!! It was driving me crazy. Then, when the return flight jumped up 20 bucks per person, it really scared me. Now, they are even higher!! Glad I booked. I also wanted the earliest departure flight to put me into Orlando early in the day so that we could have a full day of the park. I didn't want to risk it!!

Well, we can get home from Florida, but so far we cant get there. I am trying to book using SW free tickets. Wish me luck.

I booked our flights for Oct, less than $100 each way from Michigan figuring that the way the price of gas is going up, airline fuel will follow soon and you know that what goes up DOESN'T always come down.
