Should I book GCH now, or wait for a discount to come out?

I am planning a September trip. I want to stay at the GCH (YAY!!!, dream come true!) Should I book now, or is there usually some discount in September I should wait for? Does anyone have experience with a discount in September? (Such as the discounts being offered now with the 25% on Disney Hotels if you stay until May 31?)

Any help would really be appreciated!!
THANKS!:thumbsup2

I just got a mailed offer for $355 a night at the GCH for September, 6-9, 9-13, 16-20.

I checked the website and you can get that same deal for $355 right on the web so its really no special offer.

As far as whether to book now or wait it really depends. Most book now and then call back to get the rate reduced but you take the chance of no rooms being available for the rate when you call. There are almost always deals for rooms. Good luck.

Hi! I was debating the same thing and decided to just go ahead and book it about two weeks ago. We're going in late July and I was trying to hold out for discounts but (1) the closer the vacation got the more I was looking forward to staying at GCH and realized I would be very disappointed if I waited too long and it booked up (we're in NY and own DVC in FL so we won't get back to DL probably for a long time), and (2) being that it's still relatively close to all the new things opening, there might not be any discounts to be waiting for! :confused3 The package we booked can be changed if/when any discounts come out that are a better price, so really there was no point in waiting. If you can do the same thing, I'd say to go ahead and book something now so that you know you've got it lined up, and then change the reservation later if something better comes along. :thumbsup2

We usually book it when we have our dates locked in and then keep a close eye out for discounts and just call and have the discount applied after the fact.

Being that you are going in Sept., you may get lucky and score a discount once the summer crowds have disappeared. I wouldn't expect to see any discounts start being offered until August at the earliest but they could surprise you.

I agree with Argento that a Sept trip has a good chance of having reduced rates offered. But that might not be how to make your decision. I think KSL is on a good track in that IF you have your heart set on GCH--and ESPECIALLY if you have your heart set on a particular room type (tower, view, etc.)--then you should book and know you might end up paying more to guarantee you will get *exactly* what you want. If I was wedded to a particular plan (like six months ago when I thought we HAD to have PPH with a park view for our Oct trip), the disappointment of trying to book later, with or without a discount, and failing would be greater than swallowing paying more. But if you just think oh, GCH sure would be nice, but hey, it could be fun to stay at DLH, too, or maybe nice penthouse suite at Residence Inn for less than any room at a DLR property, then wait it out and have fun scoring a Sept deal at one of the handful of options you find acceptable for your trip.

GL!
