we are going on the july 10th eastern and i had orginally booked through dcl. in october i saw AAA was having a sale on the same cruise, got a great price moving from our cat. 11 to a cat. 8 for the same amount. we were very excited about this and all went smoothly with the transfer. now here's the problem, my oldest daughter has joined in on our reservation and i called AAA dec.26 and added her on, sent my deposit in for her and as of today the check hasn't been cashed, we haven't received an updated confirmation and i've been calling for the past week and can not get any info on the reservation as you have to talk to the one you made the reservation with, not like dealing with dcl where you can talk to anyone about your trip. i've left messages and no return calls have come. is this normal with AAA to take a long time to update your reservation? i know with dcl you usually get confirmations right away.

that doesn't sound like the norm when I have used AAA. Maybe because of the fact that it originated through DCL and then transfered to AAA may be the reason for the delay. If you don't find out something soon, or if you cash doesn't get cashed soon, I would be calling AAA every day asking for a status!

I also originally booked through DCL & then transfered the reservation to AAA & then at a later date added my 2 older children. I did both AAA transactions in person at the AAA office & they gave me a copy of what DCL faxed to them covering each transaction while I was still there. I had to make the check out to the AAA & they in turn paid DCL. Somewhat later I rec'd an official DCL notice of the transaction.

If possible, you should go to your local AAA office in person & speak to the agent directly--obviously they are not very good about returning phone calls!!!

Good luck--and congrats on the better deal!!

We booked our last cruise thru AAA and never will again!!! While it sounds like you got a good deal we didn't. It was our first crusie in 21 years (last was honeymoon which is another story!) but we got up the courage to go again and since we Love Disney and go annually or more often went for it. Since AAA advertises all time about Disney and we're AAA members we went for it. Our TA knew nothing (other than how to take money), we asked about taking a day or 2 before or after at WDW and were told we couldn't do it. We were schedule on teriible flights (in to late on departure day and out to late on retrun day). The story goes on, but the bottom line is I wouldnt trust AAA with anything in relation to a trip again!!!

just to update: called AAA again today ready to do battle and actually was able to talk to the person who made the res.. had a million reasons why she ignored my phone calls and hadn't cashed my check that "had" to be in right away five weeks ago and said everything would be taken care of today, received my updated confirmation via e-mail, now to breathe a sigh of relief.
