should I be in love with Boma?

I keep thinking Boma is going to be annoying to get to and too busy for our arrival day. I don't really know what to replace it with as our day is not set in stone. Most likely it will be DTD or DHS. Keep Boma or switch with something maybe easier?

We really did not like Boma dinner...Boma breakfast we loved. But if you want to do dinner there, a few questions:
where are you staying, what time do you arrive & what time is your ADR...and do you have a car?

pop, plane lands at 9:45, adr is around 5, no car. I thought pop to dtd (do some shopping), boma, dhs for Osborne lights, back to pop for early bed. I know we can get to boma in time, I am just wondering if the restaurant will put my mom (going on very, very little sleep) and my DD (19 months) on overload before we even get our vacation started. the reviews I have looked at talk about it being crowded and kind of crazy. Not to mention, if we end up being to tired to do DTD or DHS, transportation will be yucky.

That sounds like a really full day to begin with! Flying in, getting everyone and everything to the hotel and settled, DTD for shopping, then Boma, then DHS.

I would go for the easy and either plan to eat at DTD or DHS. Which one are you pretty sure you are going to do and schedule dinner there.

JMHO. :)

We are in love with the breakfast there but dont like the dinner at all.

We found Boma dinner to be very hectic/crowded and we went during a slow time of year & had an early seating like 5. Didn't like the food, either (spices were too odd for us on half the food, the other half was absolutely bland & tasteless:confused3) Anyway, for your situation, That really sounds like way to much for arrival day, especially if you're flying in & have a toddler with you. You'd spend a LOT of time on busses (and waiting for busses) going 3 places in one day. Think I'd probably skip all the running around & skip the table service meals on day one. If your room is ready when you get there, I'd probably get settled, explore the resort & eat at Pop counter service for lunch. Get a nap for toddler, then head to DHS late afternoon.

If room is not ready, I'd head to DTD for a little un-wind shopping (great photo ops with lifesize statues at World of Disney store & lego store.) Lunch at Earl of Sandwich or WolfgangPuckExpress, then back to POP for a rest around check-in time. Even an hour of downtime in the room could help. Head to DHS late afternoon/early evening.

Imho, that is WAY too much moving around for anyone.

I agree with PP shop DTD and eat there and IF you have time maybe DHS but I wouldn't push it.

Boma's was not our fave meal. Extremely busy, have to wait in long line to get to buffet, and the food was very sweet.

We love Boma dinner and make it a point to get there for dinner, but I agree that your day sounds pretty full without trying to get from DTD to Pop to AKL for dinner then DHS all on Disney transportation. If you take a cab one way to dinner that might eliminate some of the hustle and bustle. I just love "hanging out" at AKL lobby before dinner - it is so impressive!

We won't be going back to Boma for dinner. We wanted to try all of the most recommended places to eat for our last trip so we did go there. The food was two extremes - very spicy or very bland. It was busy but no more busy than any other place we went.

We did DTD and ate at Wolfgang Puck Express and loved it on our first day in.

I don't know if there is a one TS at DTD but if there is, that would be an option too.

I love Boma, but as many others have said, I agree that in your situation it would not be worth the hassle. As you say yourself you might just set yourself up for a situation everyone hates. While WDW offers many interesting places to eat at, I think one should never forget that the trip is about having fun and not eating at this or that restaurant. :goodvibes Having an easier day on your arrival day sounds like the better option to me! :thumbsup2

I do like Boma dinner but that sounds like too much for day 1. Won't you be getting up at 5am or earlier?

DTD & DHS might be too much too. You can't bus from DTD to the parks.
