Well, along these same lines, get this. We took our dd in Wed. for oral surgery and the nurse was having us fill out the consent forms, etc. and she said asked DD how old she was and she answered that she would be 12 next week and the nurse said, "Well you just missed having to take a pregnancy test you lucky girl!" 
My goodness! My husband and I about fainted! And our daughter, the look on her face was priceless! What is the world coming to when they are giving 12 y/o's pregnancy tests before surgery? 
I don't know. All's I can say is that things have definitely changed since I was 12.
