My son and I come to WDW every year, we have flown and drove, we live in Ga, so the ride is not that bad but it’s not that good. I am considering taking the Train, the rates are so cheap. I would love to hear anyone's experience on traveling on Amtrak to Orlando (WDW)

I would love to know if there is a parking lot at the Amtrak station and if so what is the fee to park your car while you are away at WDW?

How far is the Amtrak station in Orlando FL from Walt Disney World?

Take the train to Kissamee. The station is about 10 miles from WDW and add another 2 to 7 miles depending on what resort you will stay at.

Years ago, we took Amtrak from Newark NJ to Orlando. (we used Orlando because we were able to arrange pick up from a rental car agency there). Mom, Dad, 4 kids aged about 5-7-9-11, and we went coach to save $$. I remember it was under $600 for all 6 of us, RT. Kids were 1/2 price, or something. AAA gave a discount as well.

We had no delays or problems. From the start, we looked at it as an ADVENTURE. We laughed and said the kids would ALWAYS remember the time they went to WDW by train. We met interesting people, like college kids from Europe who were traveling around the US. We met a large noisy fun extended family from Philadelphia attending a wedding in GA. There is so much room in coach seats, and this was with older train cars, I think they are upgraded now. Me and DH did not sleep well, but the kids did.

We brought blankets and pillows, and coming back we were smarter and packed some food.

Some people get off in Orlando, some in Kissimmee. Kissimmee is closer. Whichever you choose, there should be taxis waiting when the train arrives. The taxi could stop for you to get snacks/beer before your hotel arrival. You could arrange for the taxi to meet you at your hotel for your trip back to the train station.

I don't know the answer about leaving your car at the Amtrak Station. I do know that when I called Amtrak, I spoke to people who really knew their business! :)
