Should DCA bring back a Bugs Land?

I appreciate your disdain for all things related to bugs land but I don't think you can speak for everyone as you have been doing. Bugsland is nostalgic for many of us but it was more than just some cheap rides (although I am not arguing with you on that). Bugsland was what Disney was suppose to be. When you entered Bugsland you entered another world. You were a bug and it was awesome. The theming was amazing in it's entirity. My wife absolutely loved it at Christmas with the jumbo ornaments! My kids love to be a bug and we rode Heimlech more times than I can count. It was what Disney was suppose to be. I remember taking goofy pictures with my kids being bugs at all the photo places. It was immersive and it was aimed at kids. Every park needs a few places to take your kids to unwind but it also needs some places for kids to have fun and be in a world of their own. Toon town does it in DL (and I think Fantasy Land does it too as well as Tom Sawyers Island). DCA does not have a place like that anymore. Closest would be RedWood Creek challenge and the animation building but they took out half the interactives in the Animation building. My kids are past the age but it is the biggest negative DCA has done was removing Bugs Land.

Being rational does not equate into “distain.” DCA is a premium priced park and the attractions, entertainment & experiences should reflect that. The Imagineers who designed the park have repeatedly acknowledged that the cheap, off-the-shelf attractions never met Disney standards.

Knott’s is a short drive away and Camp Snoopy has similar but better attractions to Bugs Land. An annual pass costs less than a single day admission into DCA.

Most of the comments in support of Bugs Land are ‘my then 2yo loved…’ Nostalgia isn’t a reason to keep it around.

When you believe you are rational but everyone else is being irrational.... I never said they weren't cheap knockoffs, they were. I never said DCA wasn't premium, it costs to much to go to nowadays. I did say the theming in the land was superb and is missed. I also said that a premium park should appeal to a broad demographic but DCA is missing out on having something for the younger kids.

THIS!!

I've never figured out why DCA even decided to put A Bug's Land in the first place. Because I think this was the start of a beginning of a family-friendly image for DCA. Seeing how Playhouse Disney Live On Stage "Now Disney Junior Live On Stage" worked to bring the toddler age crowd of ages 3 through 6 DCA thought that having a section geared to the toddler crowd would work especially since Mickey's Toontown in Disneyland is also geared to the toddler crowd and they thought the same thing would happen with A Bug's Land. When I went to DCA during my last trip to Disneyland I went by A Bug's Land when they were holding a sneak preview for it "A Bug's Land wasn't even open yet at that time" and from what I saw of it was rides geared to toddlers and character meet and greets with Princess Atta and Flik and it seemed to me that DCA was trying to attract the toddler audience but A Bug's Land should've been put in Disneyland rather than DCA because Disneyland has rides that attract the toddler crowd in Fantasyland. But I think Disney was still trying to make A Bug's Life a popular movie and they thought that a sequel was in development but never happened. But you can see why A Bug's Land was a failure for DCA and that's why they're focused on older kids and teens which is what DCA was originally supposed to attract but with Disney Junior Live On Stage they lost that appeal quickly

I understand the idea of wanting families with young children to purchase parkhoppers or spending an extra day to purchase a single park ticket to DCA. To get families with young children to go to DCA there needs to be something in that park for them.

Ant Man’s shrinking tech could create a section of AC similar to what was once A Bugs Land. Some of the things they do in Pym’s (pretzel enlargement, condiment area, etc.) look pretty cool.
