Should engagement announcements be written in the third person like wedding invitations and announcements? These will be sent to people who will not becoming to the Disney Wedding. It will be announcing that we have set a date for the wedding and that we will be having a party afterwards. (In which they will later receive an invitation to) Please give any suggestions on how to word this. Thanks

Meranda - I think the wording would depend on who is doing the announcing of the wedding. Are you and your FH annoucing the wedding/hosting the party when you return? Or are your parents or his parents? I would go to www.verseit.com they have a lot of different options on wording, which should give you a starting point. HTH

Df and I will be hosting the post wedding party at our new home when we reurn from WDW. I have been to verseit.com and could not find anything that fit our situation. Are there any other web sites out there similar to verseit?
Maybe I am just doing this all wrong. I guess people don't send out these kind of announcements to tell their guests what is GOING to happen. I guess they just send them out afterwards. The purpose for these announcements is to let our family know what is going on so they are not dissapointed when they here it through the family "grapevine" that we are having a destination wedding.

What about something like this:

Cover:
BRIDE
and
GROOM
are excited to announce they will be married on
DATE
LOCATION

Inside:
We look forward to celebrating with you
when we return. Please watch your mail
for details of our hometown reception.

Much love,
BRIDE and GROOM

I specifically picked announcements that "opened" (actually, they unfolded) and had them printed this way. Then when we planned our party we did a more informal, printed on our home computer invitation that included a map and such...

WOW,
Thank you ahutton. This sounds great. It's exactly what I was looking for. The only problem is we already purchased the stationary we will be using. It is one sided card stock. Do you think that would be okay?

have about doing a save the date type thing.

I think one sided card stock would be fine... I might enclose the wedding information inside a "frame" that you could download from the Clip Art gallery, then put the rest at the bottom... I like that wording because then you don't have to have a set date for your home party now, you can do invitations for it later.
