Thanks for all of the great advice !

Today's issue: PLEASE TELL ME that you can wear SHORTS at Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, and 50's Diner ? I'm not interested in any place that requires the "business casual" dress code.

Thanks !

No problem with shorts at any of those places. Have a great trip!

They are all casual, as long as you aren't barefoot or in a bathing suit you'll be seated.

Let me ask tho--if some of these other places did NOT require "business casual" (ie shorts were just fine) would you eat at those places instead??

Just for future reference..you can also wear shorts at those "business casual" restaurants. The business casual is a suggestion, not a requirement.

We probably would not eat at other places due to picky eaters.........my main choices in picking places to eat were what's on the menu, being able to wear shorts, and how fast you can eat...!!!

Ohh good question, never thought of that. I have reservations for Le Cellier and Teppanyki and will be wearing shorts while in the parks so never thought about the dress code. Is it ok at these places too?

The places that have the "business casual" dress code were immediately removed from our list of places to eat, simply for this reason.

It's not the shorts, it's the tank tops that display the usually accompanying hairy bodies that no one wants to see while they're dining :scared:

Although we wore business casual, we did see kakhi shorts & t shirts @ the Yaughtsman.

IMO, when it's "Florida Hot", dress shorts (i.e. no cut-offs, bathing suits) and clean shirts are fine in most restaurants (even sleeveless - just no tank tops please!!!!).

I only wish that were so.
Seem to be plenty of "business casual" advocates out there who don't want Mickey T's to ruin their dining experience.

i planned on wearing tank tops for our trip next month without going back to the hotel to change. is that ok? i wear them here, so i don't see the big deal. there are tank tops, and there are tank tops...lol

I'm with Uncle in the opinion of these 'standards' .. but it seems the business casual that has been established DOES allow shorts...

Considering it's been almost impossible to get adr's in a lot of places with a dress code lately, I do'nt think they are going to miss you...

If you are eating in a signature restaurant you will very liely be turned away if you show up wearing a tank top. Why not carry a little blouse you can slip on over the tank before dining?

Geena,

I think more people have a problem with men in tank tops than ladies (the hairy pits syndrome - sorry to be gross).

EEEEWWWW. What would scare me more is the ladies with the hairy armpits!
