Shorts or Jeans?

I know it seems silly, but I'm feeling stumped. We're heading to WDW this week for a 10 day trip. Given that the temps look like they'll be in the mid-70's during the day and mid-50's at night, does everyone think that my plan to layer is a good one? Should we not be wearing shorts at all? Are the evenings on an average night better for jeans only? If we wear jeans during the day, will we roast?

I know that the weather can change quickly, so we'll be prepared for the heat and the extreme cold, but I'm wondering what the best overall plan should be: shorts or pants?

Thanks, all!

Both. If it's 75 to 80 and sunny, you will be more comfortable in shorts. But in the evenings you probably want to change to jeans.

I am wondering the same thing for basically the same dates. I doubt we will change pants for the evenings unless we get really cold. Also can't see us wearing jeans in day. I guess I am thinking I will pack shorts / capris and then short sleeve shirts and sweatshirts. Also stuck in some thin gloves. Wasn't planning on taking any long pants. Now you have me wondering though...

I'm taking shorts, capris, and short sleeve shirts. I'll have hoodie for the evenings if I really need it. I never even considered gloves or jackets or any of that. Those things are staying in Michigan with the snowflakes that have been flying all weekend.

Shorts and a t- shirt for day. And a Mickey Mouse sweat shirt for night! You have to figure you're in a concrete jungle with a lot of people, it will still be pretty warm in there at night!

We leave on Friday. I plan to take jeans with one pair of shorts. Hubby will take shorts and wear a pair of jeans on the plane because it will be 30 degrees here. He will not wear the jeans at all in Disney and I highly doubt I will wear shorts. Thats just how we are. :confused3

Jeans or pants at night will be the most comfortable. Wind makes it seem cooler than it is.

Both. Here now, and while I wore a maxi skirt during the day, sweater was nice at night. I was comfy in jeans, tee, and a sweater today. Been a little nippy out, esp in morning and evening.

For me mid-70's during the day is capri weather so during the day I'd wear capri's and then at night I'd change to jeans.

Shorts are for 80 degrees and above for me. LOL

I'd also have a jacket with me. This time of year I just bring a little bit of everything anyways since the weather can change so quickly.

Watch out when they say "wind from the north" like with the polar vortex, the temp may be 70 but with the cold wind, it can feel cold. At night standing to wait for fireworks at Epcot or MK.

BUT ... if you don't bring shorts then expect to pay $40 for a pair.

If you don't want to go back to the hotel and change then consider throwing a pair of leggings in your backpack.

"Extreme cold" in Florida at this time of year is a near impossibility. During the days you'll be hot unless you're standing under the shade, so dress keeping that in mind. In the evening, it will be cool, but probably not COLD. I typically wear jeans a day regardless but I would probably be uncomfortable in shorts at night.

We go every year in Nov. I wear jeans every single day. I wear a long sleeve shirt/sweater with short sleeves under. During the afternoon I will be in short sleeves. I would not be comfortable at all in shorts after dark, and I don't want to carry extra clothes or go back to the resort to change. My son (12) and DH can wear shorts pretty much everyday with a jacket and be perfectly fine in temps down in the 50s. It gets cold, but they don't imind as much as I do.

I'm packing mostly jeans and maxi skirts but 1 pair of shorts just in case. I'm just preparing for all weather.
I'm always more comfortable in jeans.. I wear jeans more often in the summer here in MI than I do shorts.
I'd rather be a little warm than cold and having goosebumps :worried: and if it does get cold at night I'd hate to have to make a trip back to the hotel just to change.

I'm having the same trouble. So I'm packing mostly capris and shirts and sweaters for layering. I don't wear jeans unless it's really cold. I may pack 1 pair just in case.

Well, I would go with jeans and a variety of shirts, sweaters, and jackets. But, my legs get cold really easily. I don't break out the shorts until it hits the mid 80s or 90s.

Heck, when we went last October it was in the 80s during the day and I still wore leggings under my dresses.

Be aware, though, it feels WAY colder at night. Even if it says 60, it will feel really chilly. Bring some hoodies and jackets.

Here now. Both. Jeans for sure if it stays this cool/cold at night! I wore jeans today also and was great. Just bring a light jacket.

Just returned last night. I wore jeans everyday and was comfortable. That being said, i am normally on the colder side. Some friends i was traveling with wore shorts. they were comfortable, but chilly at night. Bring both so you are prepared.

I highly recommend bringing a variety of different types of clothes as the weather can change very quickly and Florida's this time of the year. Remember the 50s in the evening when there's no sun and some wind can be quite chilly.

Should I pack jeans in my park bag then? I rather not. Maybe if it gets too cold, I ll buy it there. Do they even sell jeans in the gift stores in the parks? Lol .We are not planning to return to the resort most days.

No. Take any plans to buy jeans in a gift store off your list. LoL. Even the few stores that might have pants you do not want to limit yourself. Pack your own clothes in a bag, perhaps use a locker for the extra clothes so you don't have to carry it all day. The gift stores are primarily shirts and sweatshirts for clothing.
