Shorts for whole cruise?

Now I'm completely confused because the literature DCL sent us says no shorts for ANY dinner so I called to make sure and the gal said that's correct. I asked about kids and she said kids can get by with nice shorts!!!! I'm not too happy to have to wear a dress, skirt or pants for every dinner...I will at PALO, but everywhere else too, really?!?

She said what's correct? Time was that shorts were not allowed (on paper, anyway) for dinner. But that changed over a year ago. Shorts are acceptable for all meals in the MDR. Just not Palo/Remy. DCL is still sending out old, already printed, cruise documents, so many of them still reflect the "old" policy.

Unfortunately, you've also found out that the DCL CMs on the phone don't have all the answers. Many of them are just reading from a script. Maybe the script hasn't been changed.

On the Panama Canal cruise we did there was a guy who wore pajamas all day everyday so I don't think shorts are that big of a deal.

You might get cold at night as the ac can be nippy at times especially in the theatre or cinema, take a long pair just in case.

Especially if you aren't wearing a shirt....
