Short trip report

I shouldn't be doing this now, because I'm at work, but I've been having withdrawal from the boards, and I can't help it.

We stayed at BCV 6/23-6/30 in a 2 BR room 551(top floor, end of the wing). Everything exceeded our expectations. There were 7 of us, and we all slept comfortably. We had plenty of room. Even my parents, who were with us, and usually stay at the CR or Poly said it was even nicer than the deluxe hotels. They were very impressed. Did not get to use the jacuzzi tub, though. Next time.

We ate breakfast and all but 2 dinners in the room, lunch on the go. For what it cost for one nice dinner, I bought a week's worth of groceries. What a money saver! And cooking in the room was really no big deal. The kids liked it because they could relax a little before and after eating, without having to be so prim and proper like they do in restaurants.

Now, my dilemma: I thought I bought enough points to go every other year and stay in a 2BR. Wrong. Now I want to go every year and stay in a 2BR. I can still do it, just not for a whole week. We're talking add-on here. Even my husband said to look into an add-on. Just 25 points (to start).

My kids said they wouldn't mind going every year if they didn't have to go in the parks every time. I can deal with that: save more money on park passes, and just spend time at the resort. There's plenty to do there and elsewhere.

Sorry, I said this was going to be short. I'll stop now. I'd be glad to answer any questions.

I glad to hear you had such a great time, be carefull about the add-ons. We added on before we even closed on our first contract.

Thanks for the nice write-up. The bad part about a great vacation at WDW is it makes you want to do it more often! But, that isn't all that "bad" is it? ;)

LOL! I think we ALL end up needing more points than we originally thought!

SheriB...thanks for the report.

Since our primary rationale in joining DVC was to make luxury accommodations available to us in an affordable manner, we found that the 2BR meets that definition very well. Adding on, if you can afford it, sounds like a great way to make sure you can enjoy your vacations and ask guests as you desire!

Thanks for the great trip report! Sounds like you had a wonderful time! We had decided 2 bedroom once a year at first, but after our first trip decided we wanted to go twice a year. So we added-on!

InstImpres,

Our view consisted of a slightly wooded area, but we could see through that and see the BC, and Dolphin hotel in the distance (I never knew there were fountains that lit up on the roof of the Dolphin at night), with the Tower of Terror in the background. To the right was a wing of the villas where it meets the BC. To the left was World Showcase. We watched the fireworks from our balcony at night (it was pretty awesome!). Below us to the left was a service area and the road, but it didn't affect our views, and we heard absolutely no noise, since we were on the fifth floor.

I really can't wait to go back. It's all over, but only one more year till departure again. It's exciting to think that I could come home from one vacation and already start planning the next (or even have one already in the works)! I could personally go 2 or 3 times a year, but my kids are getting Disney burnout (they're 16 and 12). I noticed a thread addressing this issue, but haven't had a chance to read or respond to it yet. My husband is slowly becoming a Disneyholic. It's actually funny, because he's not the type you would associate with that type of behavior (he'll be a closet Disneyholic). He has asked me when I want to go back next year.

Enough rambling. I've got to do some catching up on the boards; I haven't been on them in almost two weeks (gasp)!

Truer words were never spoken! I swear it is something they put in the water or the air, you just keep wanting to come back again and again and want to add on and spend more money again and again! LOL!
