We're staying three nights at BWV after our cruise, and so only spending two or three days in the parks. That means we'd need either two night or maybe one night UPHs for the family. Does anyone know how much those are? Every place I looked only shows three nights and up.

Just be aware that the UPH was designed to be a "Length of Stay" pass. Going by the letter of the law, for a 3 night stay, the only UPH that the resort would be able to sell you would be 4 days / 3 nights, beginning the day you arrive and expiring at midnight the day you check-out.

Unofficially, WDW resorts will allow you to drop EITHER the arrival day or departure day. Occasionally there are reports of CMs who are willing to drop BOTH the arrival and departure days, but quite honestly you may or may not be so lucky.

Best case scenario--the CM would let you drop the arrival and departure. You would pay for a 2-day UPH and have full park access on the middle two days of your stay. Or, you could be restricted to just one dropped day, in which case you'd pay for 3 days and have to choose which day to drop.

Unless you plan to make use of the waterparks, PI or DQ, paying for the UPH is really not very economical. You might consider buying a 4-day park hopper, and just hanging on to the unused days for a future trip.

Actually, the UPH for a short stay isn't all that uneconomical. The AllEars site shows that a four day park hopper is $233.24, which over $58 per day. A two night-three day UPH pass is $168.72 with the 10% DVC discount. That's $56 per day. And the UPH includes, DQ, PI and the water parks.

The big disadvantage with the UPH is that if you don't go to the parks on a day, you've wasted quite a bit of money. But seeing as we're only there for three days, it'd take another hurricane to keep us out of the parks.

I know there's no guarantee that they'll let me drop either day. But I've bought UPHs a couple of times, and never been denied this.

I get my ticket info both from AllEarsNet.com, but also from Mousesavers.com. For our November trip, we have guests coming for just 3 park days. We scored 3 Day PHPs for them and a cost of $178.93/adult, $143.79/child including tax. You must have an Alamo rental contrac to get them and you have to call the WDW special tix center (888 317-6392), but the dyas and pluses don't expire ever, so no wasted days.

Try that one on for size. Either that or try the AAA (or advance purchase WDW) 4 Day PH for about $215/adult, $190/ child.

I am curious, the 10% off that we get as DVC members, that is when we buy them onsite, right? We don't get 10% off the advance purchase do we?

Or is it that we can't drop a day (or two) on the advance purchase?
