I know Disney has this and I thought I remembered reading Universal did also...I want to go in & do some HP shopping and just look around. Not interested in the rides, so I hate to purchase a ticket when all I want to do is look & shop for an hour. Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks in advance!!

I'm not aware of any such thing at Universal, or Disney for that matter. Strikes me as near impossible to enforce only shopping privileges once inside the park. There is a modest Universal Store outside the gates at City Walk. I have a feeling that's the best you'll be able to do.

I heard of this at Disney (maybe Epcot) a LONG time ago. Disney has not had it for at least 6 years--more like 10+ years ago.

Back in the old Disney E-ticket days, this could be workable. But since no ride has anyone checking tickets at the entrance anymore, at Uni or WDW, what would prevent someone from doing all the rides they want once inside? Not the honor system, that's for sure! I could see the threads on here now....

go to guest services for the pass.
you'll need a credit card for the process.

you go in to the park, shop, buy the item and return to guest services prior to the hour being up.

i think you show your receipt.........maybe that has changed....?

if you do not return by the hour, your credit card will be processed for a one day ticket.

this must be done before the last two hours the park is opened.

Macraven is absolutely correct. This pass isn't issued for TWWOHP if that area of the park is at capacity and may not always be available during peak times.

Disney doesn't do this anymore and hasn't in awhile.Universal might, but for WWoHP I am not sure , considering how long the waits can be just to get INTO that section of the park

as phamton stated, universal does the one hour shopping pass.

depending on the capacity level at the parry hotter section will determine if the pass can be issued then or at peak time.

Do you need to have something specific in mind that you would like to buy to get the pass? Where do you get the pass and what do you ask for?

If you get the pass 2.5 hours before park closing do you only have 1/2 an hour to shop or do you still get the full hour?

Thanks in advance for the information!!

No

Guest Service/Will call window on the far right at each park. you ask for a shoppers pass. You will need to have a credit card. Your CC will not be charged unless you aren't back within an hour.

You still get a full hour for the pass.

If Universal does this and is only for one hour I would only try shopping at the main stores at the front of both parks,if you try to do some shopping in the Potter area expect to get your card charged for the park admission as there's no way you'll make it back within the hour.

The shoppers and dining passes have been discontinued as of March 4th.

Oh carp...I just took my dad to Mythos a few weeks ago too on the dining pass...great way to eat quickly and walk by WWOHP (we didn't go into the stores, just walked around a few mins and had a butterbeer of course)

I just called and confirmed this. I had reservations at Mythos for March 20, with the intent to use the Dining Pass. I called Mythos and they said the Dining Pass was discontinued last week. Bummer.

i am going to take a guess at this and say, maybe it will be reinstituted once spring break is over.........

I don't think it is coming back at all but that is my guess.
