I was thinking of doing a shop from 6pm.com and having it shipped to the Contemporary but I can't seem to be able to enter a Canadian address under the payment info. Anyone else have a problem like it before?

Yes. You never know if an etailer is going to take a Cdn credit card until you try... I have tried to order from the American Toys R Us to have something delivered to my hotel, but it doesn't work. Other places, not a problem. I wonder if paypal would work? Haven't tried it, just a thought.

Really annoying, I know. Especially when you get all the way to the end of the shopping and ordering process only to be told "nope, not gonna work..."

Here's what I've tried that worked:

- Amazon (I only bought things directly sold by them because of free shipping, but should works for all, because Amazon charges the card, not the seller)

- eBags

- ShoeBuy/BagsBuy (they send and e-mail requesting me to call them, probably because shipping+billing didn't match. Did so, and they verified the shipping + billing address. The second time no call needed)

- various eBay purchases with Paypal (asked the seller beforehand)

- Disney Store

I know Macys doesn't work. My sister tried to buy something off a wedding register. She called and they billed her manually. She sent the gift directly to California.

Most web site let you enter different billing and shipping addresses, so you'll be fine...as long as the retailer accepts a Canadian billing address.

Two I'd mention:

RadioShack.com wouldn't sell at all without a US billing address.

Potterybarn.com needs to be called...you can't order online with a Canadian billing address but they're happy to process it over the phone.

I've placed a few orders and didnt have any problems but there are a few US retailers that do not accept CDN credit cards

This is all in response to credit-card fraud. They want to make sure that people aren't stealing your card number and then using it to ship goods to themselves. Many places will only ship orders to the address registered to the credit card being used because of this.

That's a pain. One of the reasons I shop on line is to be able to send gifts without having to make the trip to the post office. (I have enough reasons to be late with gifts, packing and shipping doesn't help! :rolleyes1)

I have used paypal for walmart.com with a Canadian card - I used the site to store option but you could try the shipping.

I always order from Disney Outlet , Ron John Surf , Victoria Secrets, and a couple other stores when we go down there. I have never had a problem using my Canadian Credit card!
