I'm sure I remember reading of some Aussie Disboarders who have shopped online and given their WDW resort address as the delivery address so have had the packages waiting for them when they check in. Who has done this and does it work well? Are the hotels happy to accept such packages? How far in advance of your stay did you make the order? :confused3

I have already done an order with Garden Grocer (it was such fun shopping for my old U.S. favourites and suspect I have gone somewhat overboard with that order!! :lmao:) but that's easy because they physically deliver it to the resort on the day and time you specify. :thumbsup2

I remember reading a TR (I think it was Shushh) and there was a photo of a stack of boxes that they had delivered.

I am not so sure, I plan on buying some stuff from Amazon (bodyglide, moleskin) and having it shipped but probably wouldnt with anything of real value, but socks, sure!

Oh this would be great if we can, I have a few things that the price of shipping to AUS makes them unreasonable but I was going to try and get them shipped somewhere along my trip

Also that Garden Grocer store... someone ban from this site before I go, otherwise I can see myself getting too much food that I don't need

I have stayed at Old Key West & Port Orleans Riverside having packages delivered successfully to both resorts from sellers on Ebay.

At OKW, a telephone message was left for me to collect the package from reception.

At POR, I had to get reception to search the delevery area for my package.

I would suggest that you send your packages to try to arrive with your arrival. Less chance for your packages to get lost.

The Ebay sellers know shipping times very well & shipped them spot on to arrive during the 1st 2 days during our stay at the resort.

example of how I addressed my packages.

My understanding (I have not stayed here so I cannot be 100% sure) at the Beach Club, Yacht Club or Boardwalk villas, there is a charge to receive packages which varies with weight.
This is due to Disney outsourcing the managment of these resorts.

You could always give the resort you are staying at a ring to see if there is any charge.

Hope this helps :)

Yes it was me with the multiple boxes delivered to POR! The convention resorts will charge to accept packages but otherwise the Disney resorts will accept them for you for free. I think on one of the other subforums, there is a complete list of the resorts, their address, and whether or not they'll charge. I'll see if I can find it. It was addressed to the name which the reservation was under and the date of our arrival.

I bought from the Disney store, Land's end, ebay, Amazon...they all arrived safely. Most I timed to arrive about 1-2 weeks before we arrived. Some arrived about 3.5 weeks before hand. But this couldn't helped as I had to buy when the sales was on...No complaints from the POR. They just delivered it to our room on the day of our arrival. I was embarrassed (see picture below. battymum you have an amazing memory!) when it came but the bellboy didn't say a word! Let's see, I bought camera lens, flash units, spare batteries, lens filters, clothes, shoes, jackets, gloves, Christmas tree skirts, memory cards, internet dongle, socks, and more! Delivery was all free which was great!

Hi there

I too do online shopping a week before we leave, as the packages always get there before me, and as as stated in previous posts, just address it to the hotel and it will be waiting at check in. Oh, just also add the dates you will be staying, in case it gets there earlier than expected.

We stayed at POP, and i just called in every day to check to see if they had a parcel.

I ordered from virgin phones, amazon, disney, tshirt places etc....so a wide variety....just make sure you have enough luggage space:rotfl:
This year I am taking an empty suitcase......as the deals are so damn good...and with outlet shopping, i don't need to buy Xmas gifts when i get home, shame they cant wrap them for me as well.:lovestruc

only 72 sleeps.........my visa card is having an anxiety attack just thinking about it.:thumbsup2

Gardengrocer.com is certainly a popular and efficient way to get groceries at WDW resorts, but actually visiting a large US supermarket is also good.

I had things shipped from Amazon, that didn't allow shipping to Aus, to POP Century last year and it was easy. I had three parcels, the first two were there when I checked in I just asked and they went to the back and found them for me. The last came a few days later and the front counter staff just left a message on my room phone letting me know they arrived.

Wow Shushh and I thought I was a shopper. I'll have to show that to DH next time he tells dd and I to slow the shopping down on holidays.

Can someone please help me???? I am hopeless...

how do i order groceries to be delivered to our hotel?
How do i pay?
Will they deliver them to our room?
what should i order?

thanks so much

I've used Garden Grocer twice and they were really good. I ordered online, filled in the resort and requested delivery date. The first time in 2007 the order was in our room when we arrived. Last year I requested a specific time and it arrived no problem. You can add a tip to your order so you don't have to worry about tipping when they deliver. Payment is through paypal so no worries there either.
As for what to order, I usually get fruit, snacks and water. It's definately cheaper to order your water this way rather than buy it by the individual bottle.
I'm sure there are other options available, but this is what I've used and have been happy both times.

Thanks for this

sorry forgot to say we are going to WDW, first i drive then on site!

I have made an order for Garden Grocer (had fun and went overboard in my ordering I suspect!) and it is scheduled to be delivered the night that we arrive at POR.

I have had lots of packages delivered to our AKL without any problems. I always add our check in date to the order so if it arrives beforehand they know when we are coming.

The delivery companies are not allowed to go up to your room, so they always leave them downstairs at bell services (for groceries) or concierge at the front desk for packages, mail etc. (this is at Disneyland resorts as well as most WDW resorts)

I have used Garden Grocer a few times and they are great. I always choose a delivery time before our arrival so that everything is there when we arrive. Disney have fridges at bell services too, so when the groceries are delivered they put everything requiring refridgeration into cold storage. We were delayed by a day one trip because of nation wide flight cancellations and our groceries had arrived the day before. When we arrived everything was still perfect.

We get them delivered before our arrival time, so when we check in, we notify them of our delivery and they will bring the groceries up with the luggage or if we have used Magical Express, we just have them bring it up seperately. You can certainly go down and pick it up from Bell Services yourself, but we always get big casks of water (cheaper) to fill up our water bottles so it's too heavy to carry.

We order water, juice, fruit, snacks (crackers, cereal bars) sometimes cereal and milk, laundry detergent, wipes, (nappies back in baby days). Can't remember what else off hand.

I'm happy to put my hand up and second both the delivery of packages to the WDW resorts, and the service from Garden Grocer.

The grocery delivery was too easy, had it scheduled for delivery a couple of hours before our predicted arrival and all was waiting for us, so the kids had fruit and snacks available upon arrival, and we had lots of fresh water bottles for the whole trip.

Deliveries from Amazon, Crocs, t-shirt places, mobile phones, Best Buy, Vera Bradley etc etc etc - the room looked like a warehouse for about an hour after we checked in until we opened the boxes and put everything away. Most of the stuff was way overpacked.

Made sure I had the packages addressed to the street address of the resort NOT the general Disney PO box, and right beside my name I wrote HOLD FOR GUEST ARRIVAL XXXXX(date). Don't forget Americans write their dates with the month and date the wrong way around so they don't get confused with what day you're coming in and send your packages back if they think you've been and gone.
