Shopping 'off site'

Visiting for 2nd time in august. Last time we did no shopping at all, just spent the entire 2 weeks in parks. This time daughter and I (she;s nearly 16) might have a day shopping. We aren't 'designer' people but she'd probably like some converse or vans, and maybe a few t shirts with a logo (but I don't actually know which one!!) any suggestions about where to go? Were staying at sports resort, will have a car but I'm not driving! Hubby will probably drop us off and then come back for us. I don't mind public transport between 2 different locations?
Generally speaking we love a bargain! What do people buy?

There are two really huge outlet malls, and other smaller ones. If you want to do both, the best thing to do would be to get your husband to drop you at the Orlando Premium Outlets at the top of International Drive. Shop there, then you two could catch the Lynx 8 bus from right outside for $2 each (every 15 mins) which would take your directly to these one outlet mall (Orlando Premium Outlets on Vineland Rd). The bus takes around 30-40 minutes but is air conditioned. There are plenty of places to eat at both malls. The second mall is closer to Disney so your husband could collect you from there, or a cheaper cab.

Alternatively the Florida Mall has lots of good stores for teens, prices may be higher however. You could easily combine this with the Premium Outlets at the top of International Drive as the Lynx 42 bus travels between these ($2 & every 30 minutes).

Also very close are the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores - a bit smaller than the other places but well worth a look. It's really easy to get to - exit WDW along Epcot Centre Drive which becomes the 536, after passing the Nickelodeon Hotel turn right at the 535, and it's just down a short way on the left.
On that road, Walmart is just a bit further down on the right...

Don't bother with the Florida Mall, it's gone downhill, the Outlets above are great.

depending on what your daughter wants would dictate which outlet to go to. I would look up the list of stores at each of the Premium Outlets first to make sure they do have what she wants. I always go to the Idrive one because its where the yakee candles are!!! I personally would not bother with LBV factory outlets as there isn't much there especially for teens looking for fashion labels, plus you can get nearly all the same stores at the other better Premium outlets. I also love the Florida Mall because it has the big stores like Saks 5th Avenue where I buy my make-up, which you won't find in the outlets!

at least there all the outlet malls are indoors. Are the ones in orlando still outdoors? we found that difficult as well!!!!

and on the trips where we only go to orlando (without a stop in detroit), i do a lot of online shopping and have it shipped to our disney resort!!!

Yes the ouetd are outdoors. Think florida mall is inside but not been for over 10 years. Good suggestion about having stuff delivered to the resort.having 10 or so yankee candles is nit good on the arms

I second this! I love the outlets and i'm not a huge fan of the Florida Mall (only thing that saves it for me is American Eagle!). The outlets are outdoors but a lot of it is in shade and there's a/c in the shops so hopefully that'll keep you cool.

If not best thing to do is head 'home' and go for a wee visit to BB or TL!

They are less than half the price in the outlets on idrive. We spent $98 in the yankee shop last time and got 7 large candles 5 packs of tealights 3 candle burners 10 wax melts and 4 car jars. They had loads of mega deals on. They wrap them really well to take home. They are heavy so I always pay for an extra bag.

I have helped my parents part with plenty of their money previously at the Orlando Premium Outlet when I was younger (we went there on visits when I was 12, 15 and 20) so there is plenty to find for teenage girls. I also got a few pairs of converse there myself.

Will be avoiding it on my trip this September as I'm spending my own money lol

Why would you want to shop at WalMart? I'm an American and I don't shop there. It's full of cheap crap from China. Why come all the way to the US for that?

Because shopping in australia is so bad it makes Walmart look awesome! Where would you recommend for shopping? We want to get clothes, homewares and toys?
