We are taking a day off from of the parks in our upcomming Nov tripand are planning a visit to do some shopping for one day. We are staying at CBR and have a car.

My question is which would be the best place to go shopping as DH would like a pair of Oakley sunglasses and myself and the kids are crocs fans. I also like sports wear. Last time we visited about 3 different shopping places with no real plan and it was a bit chaotic, one i recall was the forida mall be got lost driving back to the hotel. I don't really like shopping so and advice and recomendations will be gladly recieved.

preimium outlet mall on vineland opposite dixi landings:thumbsup2 not far from the crossroads Got good shops and from a male point of view not as big as florida mall.

I've just ordered my Crocs for delivery to the hotel from www.taylorshoes.com due to the fact that everyone I've spoken to has had difficulty getting the range of colours, styles or indeed genuine Crocs at all.

November might be a better month though to be able to get them :)

Premium Outelts has Oakley's at the Sunglass Hut but not sure about Crocs! I seem to recall seeing them more at the Florida Mall or Mall at Millenia. As for Oakley's they are really discounted and there are two places at Universal that sell quite a good selection, the first is a shop in Citywalk that is a surf clothing store and there is an Oakley shop in IOA near Spiderman. There is also an Oakley shop at FM, but it had quite a limited stock.

The biggest Oakley store is their own store at the Florida Mall, they would have the biggest collection here of sunglasses and clothing, maybe they just didn't have much in Claire when you were there? they have always had loads when I have been in.

As Claire says the Quiet Flight surfstore at US Citywalk is a good place to try, and there are actually 2 Oakley stores within the parks, in addition to the one close to Spiderman there is one near the Jaws ride at Universal Studios.
Plus there is a small store at Orlando MCO Airport too.

Boardwalk surf store in Kissimmee on the 192 , close to the Nike factory store, also have a good selection.

Expect to pay approx. $130 or so for the new designs, as opposed to £130 plus in the UK.

As for Premium Outlets I have found the selection there very limited and often they are the older styles too.

Don't forget if you have a Universal AP you'll get 10% discount :thumbsup2

This is the only way (that I'm aware of) to get Oakleys at a discounted price - Matt bought a pair of Half Jackets last October in the one at Universal Studios and got the discount. The store at Florida Mall has always had the entire range whenever we've been there. Matt bought some Juliets there a couple of years ago with two sets of lens in fire and emerald (the emerald weren't available anywhere else at the time). Sporting Eyes at Mall at Millenia also stocks Oakleys, but the range is limited and they're over-priced.

Bloomingdales (at Mall at Millenia) and Nordstrom (at Florida Mall) both stock Crocs, but I've no idea how big their ranges are.

We bought a couple of pairs of Oakleys from a shop across the road from Premium Outlets - just drive past Dixie Stampede and it's on your left - I think there's a Publix there.

They weren't discounted but we got a couple of large hard cases thrown in free.

It was in January when we were last there.

Good to hear the 10% is still valid as in 2005 the assistants in the store thought it had ended but still gave us the discount!

Hi,
We are shopaholics! Especially when it comes to Oakleys! I have 5 pairs and DH, and DS also have a fair few pairs too!
We are always looking for different lenses etc, and our first port of call is the Florida Mall, they always seem to have what we are looking for!
So for Oakleys I would suggest the Florida Mall
For Crocs, we always head for Dillards (Florida Mall, and Altamonte Malls)
But for great bargains (especially with the VIP discounts), head for Premium Outlets.
Happy Shopping!
Tracy

Thanks for the info about Oakleys at IOA!

I wanted to buy a pair but thought I would have to wait a few days to get to the Premium Outlets. We have IOA planned for the first full day though, so i'll be able to get a pair straight away! :thumbsup2

DEFINETLY DO NOT BUY OAKLEYS AT IOA OR CITYWALK.
I bought mine at the Florida Mall Oakley shop , they had all the latest ones there and a good selection , ,sunglass hut and others did not have the ones i wanted.
I bought mine at the Oakley shop for $200, they sold them at CITYWALK and IOA as well but they where $320 + tax for the exact same pair, so have a good look around before you buy

It must depend on what you're buying. Matt's Half Jackets were the same price they were everywhere else (and he then got the 10% AP discount). As you say, shop around before you buy, but I wouldn't automatically discount the stores in US or I0A.

jonkatony - whereabouts in Epcot are Oakleys sold?

We have always found the current styles of Oakley's to be the same price no matter where you go be it the Florida Mall, Premium Outlets or IOA.

The Oakley store at IOA is probably the smallest of all the one's discussed here, so bear in mind if you are after a particular style you may need to look at alternative stores.
I went in the IOA shop last August looking for sunglasses (though I have 3 pairs already), and came away with 2 bags and a watch instead!
At the time we were AP holders so did save a few $.

Well they where not all the same price last summer at Citywalk

The Quiet Flight surf shop at CityWalk will price match. We bought a pair of Arnettes for dd's boyfriend which he'd seen cheaper elsewhere. When we mentioned it, they matched the price.

Surely it depends on which ones you're after Johnny?

Seem to recall my half jackets were around $150, but my Juliets were a lot more, something like $350 plus the other lenses.

As people have said make sure you know how much the pair you want should be. Plastic frames are the cheapest, with the x-metal ones being a lot more and then the mp3 ones, like the Thump, more again. Polarized lenses are always more than the standard ones.

I've always found them to be around 2/3rds of the UK price, albeit in this country there is a little more freedom to get what you want made up. I have a pair of prescription sunglasses made in the Why2 frame. They're black frame with fire lenses and red ear and nose sockets, which makes them look like a set of Ducatti limited edition. Which as Oakley never did a Ducatti edition in the Why2 is pretty cool - and VERY limited!!

I've always found the O Store at Florida Mall a good place to get them, they have a good range especially of replacement lenses. They had a large selection for my Juliets, which no other shop has, in fact Oakley recommend you get them to change lenses in Juliets.

In my experience the Oakley shops in Universal are the same price, and they always have the latest models, so whilst they've not the depth of the FM one, they have a good range of the latest ones.
