shopping oakleys and crocs

Surely it depends on which ones you're after Johnny?

Seem to recall my half jackets were around $150, but my Juliets were a lot more, something like $350 plus the other lenses.

Two of the one's I have are 'straight jacket' types, both silver frame and either Orange flame or yellow lens in colour.
Receipts show they were $138 including tax when bought in Orlando, previously priced at £130 from my local stockist in the UK.

I also have a watch bought from the Universal Studios store that was $495, and priced at £400 in the UK.

You are right though and it can depend on the style you are looking for, I was just going on the one's I have I guess.

Thanks for all the info.

Im not sure what style I want. I seen a pair my friend had and they are perfect (have no idea what kind of 'model' they are though).

Im quite picky when it comes to sunglasses as I never seem to really suit them (well, imo I dont anyway). I'm just looking forward to being able to shop for a fairly expensive pair of sunglasses, something i've never done before :thumbsup2

Just had a look after I posted :)

The best part is, the models I like best are actually the cheaper ones :thumbsup2 Will probably go for either the radar range, flak jacket or half jacket :) I like the ones with the rubberised stems, as they fit more snugly on your head and there will be less risk of them coming off on a rollercoaster or something. When I tried my friend's ones on, they felt as if they would have a really hard job of falling off accidentally.

This is a photo of the Universal Studios store I took in August 2005.

I would really love a pair of oakleys but due to been as blind as a bat unfortunatley i have to wear specs so cant do shades - Was gonna go and have laser surgery but spent the money on going to Florida in 3 weeks time instead!!!

I really like my half jackets, they are very light and fit very well. Not normally a fan of plastic ones, but make an exception for these.

When I bought mine in the shop pictured by Johnny, they put the lenses I wanted into the frames I wanted, so if you see a mix that isn't together, just get them to change them around for you. I've got brown frames and brown XLJ titanium lenses. Just had a look at the Oakley site - gotta love the carbon fibre frame:thumbsup2

You can get prescription Oakleys. I've had a couple of pairs (wear contacts now). My eyesight is shocking, so on the second pair I had I was limited on the style due to the curveture of the lens and the strength of my prescription.

Thats a thought, i wonder if they could get them done in a few days, although i would imagine it takes quite a time to get them made up might be worth asking whilst im there though.

Thanx for all the info.

I think it may be a trip to the florida Mall in the second week in our hol. DH knows wich styles he likes but until you try on glasses you can never be quite certain what will look good. If we see something in the parks earlier at the prices we can see on the oakley site he may get then but I think we may go to where there is the best choice.

Last time we went to florida mall we got lost on the way out and ended up going totally the wrong way by about 10 miles.

Great, thanks Matt :thumbsup2

Looking at them, I cant see much difference between the half jackets and flak jackets (except one is significantly cheaper on the Oakleys site)

Anyway, the price for either is well within the range I was looking for, so whatever looks/feels best will do.

Frame design is different, personally I'd say the half jackets are a lot nicer - but I would;) I assume you can change the lenses on flaks as you can with halfs.

Hi All,

This post is becoming an expensive one for me! Was determined not to buy any new Oakleys this year, and was going to be very good, and just buy some 'fire irridium polarized' lenses ($90) for my half jackets (which I love too!!), but now I've had a nosey at the Oakley website, I've just spotted a new style I've not seen before... Pink Suede Riddles with gorgeous black gradient lenses... at $130... am now trying to justify why I need to buy them!!!

Tracy

PS. Polarized lenses can seriously alter the prices of the glasses too!!
