Are you near enough to a mall to be a regular visitor ( if so, which mall is it?)
We only visit very occasionally (before Christmas is an annual must) - Lakeside ( an hour away) or Bluewater ( an hour and a bit M25 permitting) and when we visit Manchester, we like to go to the Trafford Centre.

), you get the best of both. There are two large indoor malls and lots of pedestrianised streets too. The malls are nice, spacious and warm with a good choice of shops, while the streets outside have lots of special entertainments for Xmas shoppers. Shopping outside does give you a better Xmas atmosphere with all the street entertainment and 'Del Boy' type traders
