How do you get to the outlet malls from onsite hotels if you dont have a car? I know taxi is possible, but are there any shuttle busses? Regular city busses? Always had a car before so never thought about it.

Thanks,

Tony

We used the Lynx bus to the Premium Outlets once but it took a long time. We had to go to the TTC, take a bus to a stop near Seaworld and then take another bus to the outlets.

A cab ride took only 10-15 minutes (to/from DTD).

We're going to take a cabto the Premium Outlet. Don't know if we'll take it from AKL or from DTD because its supposed to be cheaper from DTD.

When are you going? I could report back on the cab fare when we return Nov. 24th.

The cab fare from DTD is around $7-8. We usually give them $10. Some drivers would ask for $15... just go to the next cab. :)

Hi Tony!

Why not rent a car for the day? That way you can really get into some serious shopping! :cool1: Outlets, Malls, Walmart, Target, etc.......

Either from the Care Car Centre, which has a shuttle that will pick you up but give them 24 hrs notice. Or from the Dolphin and take Disney Transportation there.

I've done that twice and it was so easy! That way would could also get our Sonic Fix in too!LOL

The cabs are metered, the drivers can't arbitrarily set a fare. Yuo don't want to get in a "cab" that isn't metered, they are possibly not licensed or insured either. This does not relate to previously arranged car service, a diferent thing etirely.

I would rent a car for teh day, you can often get a sub compact for around $25, which is what your cab fare is going to be.

Car rental sounds like a good idea. Are there any maps on the DIS showing the outlet malls?
Thanks
Tony

ANother vote for car rental!!! i got a full size for $23 total last trip with Alamo...can't beat it!!!

Tony, make sure you have your rental in place NOW!

DO NOT EXPECT to walk up and get a car!

As for a map, this is basically what I follow........

Take the I4 up to the last exit before Kirkman Road which will take you to International Blvd. Make a Left onto International Blvd and head to the Belz Outlets plus you can check out the Festival Bay Mall there too. From there I get back onto International to Sand Lake Road, make a left and this will take you to Florida Mall. There is also a Walmart and Target nearby. From here, if time allows, we head back to the Premiere Outlet Mall. If not, head back there the following morning before returning the car!

Hope this helps somewhat!

I'm not comfortable driving where I am not familiar with the roads, so we take Lynx wherever we go. We like it. To go to Prime 1 outlet (Beltz) take the #50 from TTC, transfer to #8 at Sea World. It takes about an hour, and is very stress free. Cost is $1.25 and transfers are free. Beltz is huge, comprising of quite a few malls, with 2 disney stores with greatly reduced merchandise.

Do I understand correctly that there are two outlet centres - PREMIUM and PRIME (used to be BELZ)?

Any opinion on which is better?
Do they both have the Disney merchandise stores with big discounts?
Is one much further from WDW than the other? i.e. if I took a cab any idea which would cost what?

Thank you!!!!!

Sorry I have Buffalo Shopping on me brain!

I usually get the names mixed up!

It's still Belz and the one on Vineland!LOL

If you were to take the cab to the one on Vineland, catch the cab from DTD then it would only run you around $20.00.

I checked out the websites for Prime and for Belz - they give the same address but the Prime website is so much nicer and seems up to date vs the Belz one - also seems to be more stores listed? They have the same address.... so are they the same? Hmmm.....

The one on Vineland is Premium - yup it is hard to keep track of which is which!

When you say $20 from DTD is that round trip?

We took a cab to Premium on Vineland. It is newer and much nicer. Last time we were at Belz it was looking pretty tired. From SSR to the mall was about $12 by taxi each way, DTD would be a couple bucks cheaper I would imagine because it's that much closer.
While there we then walked over to Publix to pick up a few things.

Sorry, but what's SSR? :)

I'm going to be at CBR just not sure if it's worth the hassle to go with the kids from CBR to DTD and then taxi from DTD to Premium... or if I should just take a cab from CBR to Premium..... Would it be a big whoopdeedoo or no?

We decided to take the cab directly from AKL to Premium Outlet last week.

It was exactly $20 one way.

It would be cheaper from DTD but we couldn't spare the extra travel time ;)

SSR = Saratoga Springs Resort (the newest DVC resort)

I don't like driving where I am not familiar either, so I understand the taxi thing. I don't think it is worth it to go from CBR to DTD for a cab. Just get them to call one from CBR - I can't imagine the cost would be more than a few bucks difference.

Hi! :wave2:

We took a cab from POFQ to the (?) Premier outliet and it cost $15... it was $10 on the the way back , but we stopped at DTD instead :)

We got a map and directions from guest services at our hotel (they had handouts with all of the close outlet malls ready for anyone who asked) :goodvibes

That's what I figured - and way too much of a pain for a few bucks! :)

And thanks to all for the input and info :goodvibes
