Shopping in Juneau

Is there good shopping in Juneau by the port? When I visited before, we were on a long excursion and I didn't have any time to check out the area near the port. I am wondering if I should do my gift shopping in Skagway (where I remember the shops) or if I could wait until Juneau.

I did most of my gift shopping in ketchikan last time and found that most items were cheap junk made in China. I'd like to support the locals by buying their merchandise.

We found a couple of shops that sold Alaskan made items in Juneau close to where the shuttles to the ship pick up.
