Shopping for College Dorm Room, College Freshman necessities

BUT - what I always wonder is: why can't you tell me this info, but there is no problem sending any and all bills directly to me with my name on them, even parking tickets? :rotfl2: :rotfl2::rotfl2:

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Federal law - FERPA - DD's school had a whole session for parent's at orientation about this.

I just stumbled on this at the Bed Bath & Beyond website while looking for something else, and thought it might help some of you as well. I think it's great!

BB&B has a page where you can select your child's college and it will take you to an info page specific to that school. Tells you what size the beds are, what items are ok or not ok to bring, what is provided by the school, etc. Way cool!

Hope this helps someone! :)

Just a little tip.....My dd was a freshman last year and we bought a mattress topper for about $50 at BB&B...she hated it said it was not "comfy" and that someone in her dorm bought a mattress pad from Brookstone....so we went to check it out....it was $150.00 BUT it is wonderful, comfy and she will be able to use it all 4 years!! Infact my DH and I bought one for our bed. Its called Better than Down. It is a mattress topper that you zip into a (they call it) better than down cover that can be washed!!
