I am looking for a simple sewing machine. I have sewn in the past and I am not GREAT at it, but I can manage to follow directions on a pattern and make a decent piece of clothing. I'm looking to sew the kids' Halloween costumes this year. And of course, I would like to use it for scrapbooking.

What do you recommend? I don't want to spend more than I have to but I don't want to buy the cheapest thing out there either.

Did you see the Euro Pro being offered on HSN. Don't know much about it, but the 3 flex pays of $29.00 seemed like a good enough reason...
Maybe they'll repeat it? It was on about 10:00.

Good Luck

Singer has a nice, basic model that sells in the big discounters (Meijers, Wal-Mart, etc) around here for around $100 but is often on sale at about $89.

Whatever you choose make sure you have adjustable stitch lengths (forward and reverse), and zigzag. A buttonhole setting/foot and zipper foot are also good to have in a basic machine.

With those basics you'd be amazed at what you can accomplish as your skills and comfort level improve.

i don't know what you are looking to spend...but alot of the scrapbookers are getting this one. i have read decent reviews on it as well.

it is a smaller machine than a regular one, but bigger than the cheapo ones they have on the market (sew cute, sew crafty, provo craft one, etc). if i didn't already have 2 full size machines, this would be the one that i got.

I think this is the one I have. My husband got mine at Target, but I have seen it at Walmart also. Love it, I'm not a great sewer, but have made several costumes and alot of fleece stuff over the winter and it was really easy to use.
