SHOPPING CARTS...Supermarket/Mall/Wholesale Clubs???

How many people actually RETURN the shopping cart that they are using to the CORRAL in the parking lot of the store they were just shopping in???

1) ALWAYS

2) ON OCCASION

3) ONCE IN A BLUE MOON

4) NEVER

I do MOST of the time. I am guilty of not doing it when it is really cold or raining.

I must admit tho, when my kids were little I almost never did it. I wouldn't leave them alone in the car. Never felt guilty about it then. Same reason I convinced DH to put the gas in my car, I wasn't comfortable leaving them to go in and pay. This was before the pay at the pump.

Always. I don't see any reason why I should not be responsible for returning my cart to a corral or front of the store. It irritates me when shoppers leave there carts between spaces, and when they can not push their carts forward in the corral so that the carts to follow are left hanging in the driving lane.

If I am by myself I ALWAYS return the cart. I'll even return other peoples carts. With DS it depends. At Target the cart return is so far from the front of the store. Even if I get the best parking space its too far to return the cart to the store. So at Target I leave it on the grassy median. At Walmart there is a return near the front of the parking closest to the store. I park next to it and always return my cart. At the grocery store if I can park near the cart return I will return it - if not I leave it.

One thing I will NEVER EVER do is to leave my cart in the handicapped spot. That drives me crazy.

Always. Even when my kids are with me. I've never heard of any child being vaporized after being left in the car for 20 seconds.

We've been waiting for this topic to show up! I voted occasionally. I don't always return the cart to the corral. Not because I'm worried about my kids. Honestly, I'm just lazy sometimes. But I usually grab a cart that's already in the parking lot as I make my way into the store, so I'm not all bad!

I used to be an occasional cart returner, but now that I work in retail at a store with carts, I return them all the time. I can't tell you how many scratches I have on my car from carts that people don't return while I'm working

I do occasionally. We have people collecting the carts all the time so its usually not needed for me to return them. They come to my car and take them for me.

I always return the carts. I hate it when they are all over the place, crashing into cars.

But I do understand people with babies, etc. I used to have the little ones myself! I've offered to return them for people who are older or have babies with them, on occasion. ya know, RAK.

I always return the cart. The way I see it is, I borrowed the cart and will now return it to it's rightful owner, which would be the corral or back into the store (Petsmart) if there is not a corral outside. DH and I also move the carts that are placed oh so nice to bang your car in the middle of the aisle to the corrals as well.

All I want to say concerning this topic is: In all my time on this board, the topic of shopping carts became one of the *ugliest* ever! Possibly in the history of the boards. Anyone remember any of this? Very slowly backing away.

Always. And if there is not one, I take it back to the front of the store. And (gasp!) I leave my son in the carseat when I do so.
