So, a cautionary tale if you will...
We were aware before our trip that there aren't any trams running. That said, we had never driven to the parks before, as we always stayed close. This trip, we drove and out hotel was 2.5 miles from the parks (it was a great hotel).
Anyway, we prepaid for parking before they announced the rate increases. We had already planned on upgrading to Preferred Parking as it was. So glad we did.
I will admit here, that I'm a shopaholic. I wanted to get our shopping done on the first day, so we wouldn't have to deal with it later in the week. Wellllll, that was a mistake. We literally had about 100# of stuff (including large LEGO sets) to haul to the car, after a loooooong day at the parks. That walk is BRUTAL.
Luckily, the preferred parking was close to the elevators, and we weren't halfway through the parking garages. We ended up on the Monsters Inc level 4 area (apparently it's where they put the Preferred parking spots).
My advice for the cautionary tale, is to spread your shopping out over several days. I took some pain meds when we got back to the room, and the next day too.
