Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

I used to work with a doctor who went all mountain man with his beard each time he went on vacation. He'd start growing it out just before he left and when he returned home he looked like he'd been lost in the outback for weeks!

I am some-what packed! Hoping to get it completely done on Thursday. As far as G's packing.... who knows!

Well it covers the days you are there...okay I just had my brief moment of panic...I'm leaving in 17 days...what stage of panic are you in LOL

I skipped the Christmas program. Eek! I was just reading lines with someone. We wanted to maximize our time with Evie.

I will try and post a picture of G with his beard. He looks like someone who belongs in prison.

My hubby always looks dirty when he starts to grow out. It never gets very far because I just can't stand it!!!! There are very few men I have ever seen who really look good with a beard...YUCK!! Ha!! Can't wait to see you and your new homeless dude!!

This morning on the way to 'school', I was explaining to Belle that mommy and daddy would be away for a week and that she would be staying with Nonny and Grandaddy while we are gone.

Me: Mommy and Daddy are going to go bye bye for a few days.

Belle: Bye-Bye?

Me: You are going to stay with Nonny while I'm gone.

Belle: Where go?

Me: Mommy and Daddy are going to see..... (At that point I burst into tears)....
2 minutes later I have composed myself.

Me: We are going to see GoGo.

Belle: And Pooh?

Me: And Pooh.

Belle: And Bella? Bella Fly! (Belle =Tinkebelle)

I picked up the phone and called 'G' sobbing.

Me: You have to promise me that we will take her very soon. I feel like the worst parent on the planet!

In PTR news.....​

OMGoodness!!!! I will be leaving in 4 days! This time next week I will be dining with THE MOUSE!!!!

Here's what the weather is looking like. It's not looking so hot. It appears that a cold front is coming in on the 9th.

Here are a couple little goodies that I've been meaning to post about:

My LGMH & My unique little Snowbird Head.

My fabulous travel journal. The picture doesn't do it justice. It the most beautiful purple (very royal) and it's bedazzled. What more could I ask for?

I have a feeling that G may have been DISing. I sent him off to buy comfy shoes for the trip and he came back with these.

And since he is married to a Shopahlic, he bought the fancy leather Crocs. (At least I think they are leather on top.) They are very nice and you can hardly tell they are Crocs. I think I'm rubbing off on him, girls!

That weather looks GREAT to me...course I am in the 40's today and will be 20's tommorow.

GoGo is Mickey. It was one of the first things she ever said. She can say all of the other names very clearly, but Mickey is stil GoGo. My heart will break when she actually calls him Mickey Mouse.

Hey! Just wanted to jump in on your PTR from the snowbirds thread! I love it!

Oh - and we spent much of our Christmas arguing about PEE-can versus Pah-KAHN with our neighbors! We think we've decided that the coastal South pronounces in PEE-can (Ga, SC, NC, southern Va) and everyone else in the South (and much of the North) pronounces it Pah-KAHN. Growing up in the Southeast we always thought anything other than PEE-can was Yankee!

And don't get me started on "Aunt"!

I just had to say, you're not a bad Mommy, you're a great Mom realizing that it's still important to spend time with G and not just with the baby all of the time!! And you guys so deserve this trip and you'll have a great time, but be SO happy to come home to your baby, too!! Don't feel bad, there will be PLENTY of trips for Belle in the future, without a doubt to go and see Go-Go!!

Love the journal, your Mickey heads and the crocs, great find by G!! They are nice!!!! Never seen those kind before, seems like he may be Dising on the side!!

Ah bless you, I am sure Belle will have a great time with her Grandma and Grandad and it will be nice for you and G to get away. Make sure you enjoy it, and don't feel so guilty, Belle's time will come soon. Look at this as your practice run, your going to make sure you know everything new and are fully prepared for when you take her. And you can stock up on goodies for your trip with her.

That is so true...I'm so bubbly..I'm sure I'm going to find a lot of people to talk to...one of the things I really want to make sure I'm aware of is families trying to take pictures and offer to be off some assistance so mom or dad can get in the picture at some point!!! LOL!!!

This morning's coversation with Belle.

Belle: Mommy, Where's GoGo?
Me: He's at Disney. Remember mommy and daddy are going to see GoGo in a few days.
Belle: GoGo, Bella Flys!
Me: You want me to tell Mickey that Tinkerbell can fly?
Belle: (Nods head yes.)
Me: Anything else you want me to tell Mickey?
Belle: Where's Nana? (Nana is my mother.)
Me: You want me to ask Mickey where Nana is?
Belle: Nods head and says 'Yes!'

So when I meet Mickey, I've got two things to say for sure.

I'm 3 days away! The weather is looking okay. There are a few days on rain in the forecast, but it changes so much each day, so I'm just going to believe it when I see it.

G is finally getting excited! He's got alot to accomplish in the next three days, so I'm hoping he gets through them and takes time out to rest. I don't want him to be too cranky to enjoy this trip.

Today is my pre-trip beauty regiment day. I am working until noon and then hitting the spa. (Please don't think I am that Divalicious! Our Pastor's wife gave all of the female staff a gift certificate to the spa for Christmas.)
