Date night was fun! Thank for asking!!:goodvibes We are trying to get out once a month without the kiddos now that the baby is getting older and we can get him down a little earlier so we can sneak out. How was your weekend? Do anything fun??

Oh! I know what I needed to ask you.....have you ever been to Disney in December? I'm stressing about my outfits for my trip. I'm meeting my BFF and her family (who I haven't seen in 6+ mos.) down there for the week and want to look cute and stylist and show off my new skinnier me, any suggestions for what to wear? My shoes are what are stressing me out, I can't pack every pair, what do you usually take with you??:confused3

Time for babies nap....will check in later! Have a nice afternoon!!:goodvibes

The winter weather in Orlando is very hit and miss. When I lived there I was walking around in halter tops the first January and the 2nd January I have pictures of myself in a pea coat and scarf. You just never know.

Personally, I am bringing layers. I have turtle necks, long sleeve shirts and cami's to go under my 'real shirt', just depending on how the weather is. I have boots, flats and flip flops for the same reason. I am almost postive you will be comfortable in jeans or pants. It doesn't get that hot.

As for an outfit.... I think a flowy top with skinny jeans and boots (or flats) would be cute and comfy.

Here are a few tops from Old Navy that I like:

If you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Thank you! :goodvibes I feel like I should be paying you!! I was thinking of just wearing jeans most of the time and layering, so you think my boots, black flats and flip flops will be okay? One thing when going when you know it's going to be warm, it's so much easier to pack!!! The boys will be easy, DH will be easy, it's just me!!!! And I think I'm starting to get to that stressed out point......19 more days!! Ever get like that??:confused3

I am already getting a little stressed out if I allow myself to be. I'm trying not to live on the Dis these days and let real life happen. I tried to have everything for the tripped wrapped up before the holidays so I could focus on one thing at a time. I'm just about there. Hope things go smoothly! I can't wait to hear about your trip!

I hear you, we finally finished our Christmas shopping this weekend and my middle sons birthday (he'll be 4 on Christmas morning!). That's a huge load off, but now I have to wrap it all and hide it all while the kids are at school. Then I have my inlaws coming in Monday for Thanksgiving so I have company all week, have 12 coming for dinner here on T'day, my baby had a 24 hr. eeg appt. early December and then a week later we go! It's SO much for one time.....I think I need to pack this week so I don't have to worry about it, you know? :scared1:

Disclaimer: I am chomping at the bits to write a trip report! I went on a mini-vacation last weekend with my girlfriends and I am going to write about it as an attempt to ease my trip reportitis. This trip is not Disney related except for the fact that I bought a few Disney items for DD and a few clothing items for my trip.

I also don't have any pictures yet. Lo brought her camera and has not uploaded them. I will have to use pictures that I find online. Sorry!

The Place: Dallas , Tx

The Reason: Anne Elizabeth’s 30th Birthday

AE and Me

The Cast:
We are a group of friends with stair step children. Belle is currently the lone princess, but that will be changing very soon. We are having a blast raising our children and living life together. I am truly blessed to have met these wonderful women.

Ahnnie- ‘A’ is a High School Biology teacher. She is the youngest of our bunch, but mommy to the oldest of our children. Her two year old son is named Walker and she has a baby girl on the way in a few months.

Lo- Our business-savy friend. She is mommy to Gabe who just has his 1st birthday and also has a baby on the way. We will find out if it is a boy or a girl in a few weeks.

Anne Elizabeth – Actually goes by Annie, not to be confused with Ahnnie, so for the sake of this trip report she will be known as AE. AE is teaches English to 8th graders. She is the birthday girl and mother of Miller who is 11 months old. (FYI: Since we live in Redneckville, I took it upon myself to purchase Miller pacifiers that say ‘It’s Miller Time.’ Let me also add that her husband is a Pastor as our Southern Baptist Church. TeeHee!)

Friday:

We left after school and headed towards the Big D. AE insisted that the pregnant girls sit in the front, which was totally fine with me (but keep this in mind for later.) We had a good many potty stops (mostly because of me) and at around 7 pm we arrived. Lo booked up a room at the Hyatt Summerfield Suites. We giggled all the way to our room because a man hopped on the elevator with us and tried to make small talk. Lo blurted out our room number on accident and then tried to cover it up. Very funny to us, probably not that funny to you. You know how those things go…..

Our room was AWESOME!!!! It had a huge sectional couch, two full-size begs, a very large flat screen TV and best of all 4 mirrors, one for each of us to primp in. Our decor was better looking than the pictures, but you can get a general idea of the room.

We freshened up a bit and went to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, which is AE’s favorite place to eat.

AE ordered a Peach Bellini and I had a Flying Gorilla. The pregnant girls had water. What responsible mommies they are!
flyinggorilla.jpg

Flying Gorilla on the right. It's a mix of Fresh Banana, Chocolate, Ice Cream, Créme de Cacao and DeKuyper Banana Liqueur. It was SO GOOD!!!!

We split an order of Guacamole and all agreed that it needed more salt. It was okay, though. For dinner I had the Baja Chicken Taco’s. They were very bland and I did not like them at all.

The best part of dinner was when 'A' announced that she has picked a name for baby girl. She is naming her Georgia Kate. I went nuts over this and announced that my friend Carrie (our very own peachy Snowbird) has a Georgia Kate. Then I had to explain who the Snowbirds were. A nice, little Snowbird shout out on my girl's weekend!

We sat around talking for a good hour after dinner. The girls (minus me) got Cheesecake to go and we planned on ordering Made of Honor on PayPerView and eating dessert back in our room.

When we got back to the room, we were all exhausted and realizing that we would all actually get a full nights sleep we decided to turn off the lights and dream then night away.

Saturday:

I woke up the earliest at 7:30. Hello! We were going shopping! I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I woke up Lo and asked if she minded if I started getting ready. The other girls slowly followed and with me cheering everyone on we were out of there by 9 am. :cheer2: The pregnant girls ate their cheesecake (for breakfast #1) while we drove to AE’s favorite place on earth.

Ikea didn't open for another hour, so we went upstairs and had breakfast. I didn't realize they served food at Ikea! It was pretty good, too. I had the $1.99 plate which included eggs, sausage, potatos and french toast sticks. The eggs were kind of icky, but the rest was very good.
ikea7.jpg

I didn't plan on buying anything at Ikea. Really, I was just along for the ride, but four hours later I walked out with an entire big girl bedroom for Belle.:confused3

The other girls bought tables and easels for the baby boys Christmas gifts. It seemed like a great idea until we got out into the parking lot and tried to fit it all into 'A's Camry.

The easels took up over half of the backseat, but sat down very low. This meant I had to sit in AE's lap for the rest of the day. Because the easels sat down so low, we looked like we were sitting that way by choice to all of the drivers passing by. Boy did we get some weird looks!:rotfl2:

After that we headed across the street to the Stonebriar Mall. We had lunch at ChickFilA (which was absolutely INSANE) and then shopped some more. The pregnant girls went off to shop at the maternity stores and AE and I strolled around. When I tell you we saw nothing, I mean we saw NOTHING. AE and I are from two totally opposite ends of the fashion tree and neither of us bought a thing. Okay, I take that back. I bought Belle two sippy cups and Mickey Mouse silverware at The Disney Store. I also bought Wetzel's Pretzels for the first time. YUM!

The end our day of shopping, we went to check out the Grapevine Mills Mall. We spent a very long time in Forever 21. We all picked out tons of things for AE and turned her into a little fashion diva.princess: It was lots of fun! It felt like High School.

I did get a few things in Dallas:

After that we were exhausted and missing our families very bad, so we decided to head home. :cool2:

It was a fabulous little mini-vacay!

 The real deal will be here in 46 days!!!!

Hey girl! Glad you had such a good time!! Time away is good for everyone!! They miss you when you get home!!!!

When are you going to move Belle into her big girl bed...it's very pretty and girly by the way.

Maybe after Christmas. We are VERY ready! There is just so much going on that we don't really have the time to put her big girl room together. It will probably end up being after our trip. She is very excited about it, though.

What a great time away!! Good for you, we Mommies need to do that from time to time! :goodvibes It makes us better Mommies!!:cloud9: My BFF and I get together once a year in her neck of the woods and once here and it's so much fun for us...we get pedis, manis and do lunch and movies, it's soo nice!!

Too funny about putting all the goodies from Ikea in the Camry!! :rotfl: I can only imagine what people thought when they were driving by you. Love the things you bought, too, very cute! What a pretty necklace, will this go with anything for your upcoming trip?:confused3

What does Belle think of her big girl bed? I just bought Cole his bedding for his big boy bed for Christmas....when you have three boys, we don't need anymore trucks, so since this Spring he'll go to a bed, we went that route.

Hope you're having a good day today!!:flower3:

It goes with alot of things, actually. :goodvibes I saw it and had to have it. It will be making an appearance in my future trip report.

Hey girl! Hooray for an update!!! Loved the mini TR...the more I read of your PTR, the more I'm convinced we're twins. :goodvibes lol! I love all the stores you stopped at...too bad you didn't have more luck, but it sounds like you had a fabulous time! (cheesecake factory...yuuuum!)

I loved hearing about Ikea! I think roughly half of all the stuff in my room comes from there...they have such funky stuff! :thumbsup2 You're so lucky you have Belle to shop for (loved her new room btw!)...all the kid's stuff is so cute! (I got the blue oceany kid's curtains for my dorm room! ).

Sounds like such a fun trip!

I love IKEA! I got the lanterns for my reception centerpieces there. They're adorable!

Okay I'm finally caught up I think!

You are such the fashion queen...:worship:
(Perhaps I'll have to take some of the fashion tips- I loved the shirts from Old Navy you posted! As of now I'm planning on wearing jeans, Disney tshirts and tennis shoes all week. Perhaps I should rethink that!)

I loved the pics of Belle- even the unhappy ones. You have a beautiful family!

And Ikea...my whole house is practically filled with Ikea stuff! I loved the bed you picked and would have paid good money to see all of you crammed in that little car!

There are a few reasons why we are taking a second Honeymoon.

1. Our Anniversary is very close to Belle's Birthday, so we've yet to celebrate it properly.

2. G is graduating from school for the 4th time. I have officially labeled him a professional student.

3. The most important celebration is G's birthday. (Which is actually today.)

G got very sick in our first year of marriage. I tend to be dramatic, but know that I am being very serious when I tell you that I almost lost him. Since then he has been in and out of surgeries to reconstruct him abdomen. It's been alot in our short 2 1/2 years of marriage.

Today my man turns 40! He is sad, but I think it's wonderful! I am so incredibly thankful to have him around. I am biased, but he is the most amazing man I've ever known. I can't wait to spoil him rotten on our 2nd Honeymoon!

Happy Birthday, G!!!!!

He looks good for 40, doesn't he?
