Shopaholic Goes Disney.... A Pre-Trip Report (Updated 12/26)

So I thought of you yesterday when I saw a lady wearing her Uggs. It was around 65 degrees! My girls were wearing shorts and t-shirts while they were playing outside! :lmao:

:rotfl2:

I can just see it now.... I'll come back from Disney and read in someone's trip report about the crazy girl walking around in Uggs in the 70 degree weather.

Girl--you know if your feet are warm, so is the rest of you. So... admit it,,,you wear them with shorts too don't you!!!:lmao:

I might.... ;)

I moved back in with my parents for a while before G and I got married. They live on a farm and I walked around with UGGS and shorts alot when I was helping dad in the yard. They were my trusty, old farm boots.

I am definitely not a fashionista by any stretch however I must say that since I have read this PTR I have found myself researching things such as Uggs and Vera Bradley bags...my husband about dropped dead the other day when he found me looking at purses online. I blame you Soleil :rotfl:

Yikes! Sorry about that.

I'm actually getting a bit tired of stressing about my shopping list for this trip. I went Christmas shopping and it was very refreshing to shop for a different occasion.

Bah its kind of refreshing all this girlie stuff LOL!!!! Hope your day gets better!!!!

Because today I dealt with two wicked step-sisters before I finally found my prince.

Forgive me... I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me get back to where I left off.

(Actually, let's rewind to the year 2000.)

In January of 2000 I packed my bags, kissed my nervous parents goodbye and headed down to Orlando to work for The Mouse (via The Disney College Program.)

I only knew one other person before-hand and he was a boy, so we weren't allowed to room together. :cutie: On my first day training for work, I noticed that my upstairs neighbor was in my group. I told her that "it is, like, so neat that we can work together AND be neighbors" and "it will be so cool because we can carpool." The only problem with that- she had a car and I didn't. So basically I was asking her to be my chauffer. She thought I was a dumb-blonde and rude, I thought she was that tough New York girl I'd heard about on television. We both ended up with bum roommates and would meet half-way up the stairs (down the stairs for her) to vent about them. Within days we decided that we liked eachother afterall and she even offered to take me to work. Eventually her roommate quit the program and I moved into her room. We cried our eyes out when we had to seperate and vowed to always stay best friends. "We will be in each other's wedding!!!!" That was our promise.

Here we are at mine:

Yes, it's true. Tina (along with her entire family) packed up and moved to Florida. It dawned on us last week that we would be 3 hours apart and it would be just plain silly not to meet up for the weekend.

This has caused me to go into a tailspin of plan changing.

Change #1
Flight Change

I thought it would be easy to change my flight. I toyed around with the idea before T and I planned on meeting up, but I wasn't willing to pay the extra money to change it. I called Expedia to change the flight at around 2 pm this afternoon. I got step-sister #1 who barely spoke English and wasn't friendly. I tried very hard to be polite, but the communication barrier was too confusing. I hung up.

I called back a few minutes later. I got step-sister # 2. Her English was a little better, but she was very rude. After an hour on the phone with her, she informed me that she could change my flight, but is would cost about $500 because the flight that I wanted cost more than my previous flight. It most certainly did not. It was right in front of my on my computer screen. I asked her to explain each extra cost to me. She said, "My supervisor just told me it would be $500. I don't know, ma'm." (Seriously...that was her great explination.) I told her I would call back later. By this time it was 4:15.

At 5:00 pm, I called Expedia back. This time I got Prince George. To make a long story short, Prince George spoke English very well and did everything in his power to help me. He called Delta himself and they changed our flight for no cost. Woohoo!!!!

Change #2
Add an ADR:yay:

Now that we are arriving earlier, we got to make another ADR. I was trying to decide between Boma and 1900 Park Fare. I called and asked T her opinion and she said she's just excited to be back at Disney with me and doesn't care, but didn't sound keen on an African Buffet.

Next, I asked G.

Me: Um, babe....
G: Is this about Disney again?
Me: We have to make another ADR.
G: An A-D-what?
Me: Do you want to eat at the AK Lodge or the Grand Floridian?
G: What's the difference?
Me: One is African and the other is a fancy buffet- (in a tiny whisper) and there might be a princess there.
G: Which one?
Me: (Trying to sound very sweet.) Cinderella.
G: You are so cute. Let's eat with Cinderella.

Good Husband. The training is going well, my friends.:wizard:

So it's official. We have a brand new ADR for:

Change #3
Pop is out - Wilderness Lodge is in

I'm going to call and cancel out POP reservation for the first night and stay at WL with a room only reservation. (Since our previous flight was getting in at mid-night, I didn't see a need in paying $300 for a room that we we wouldn't get to enjoy.)

Although T has grown to love Driving Miss Soleil, I don't want to take advantage of her during her mini-vacay.

Here's another picture of us. Proof that opposites attract.

Thanks! I'm so excited to see Tina. It's been since my wedding nearly 3 years ago. This is by far the longest we've gone without a visit.

He's starting to get much better about Disney talk. At one point he jokingly said I needed therapy. I told him that is what the Dis is for.
