Shooting at Va Tech

Unbelievable, I can only imagine what the families are going through...and the students, the staff...everyone involved. What a horrific tragedy.

I have only just heard about this nightmare, I guess I am just confused as to how there were 'two' shootings and one shooter? How did this happen, it doesn't make any sense...

I just called the Indian Alumni Association! They are looking into it and are trying to find out his whereabouts. They also said that 80% of the Asian Indian students are accounted for and are trying to find my cousin. If this fails greentea i will take u up on ur offer. Thanks so much!! The whole thing is unbelievable - dont worry about sounding insane, that is the last thing you need to worry about. I cant believe he went all the way over to Norris from AJ w/out getting stopped - its a 10 or 15 minute walk. There must have been so much confusion. We are all thinking about you and anyone affected. Take good care.

Wounded students being evacuated from classroom building. Given they are not being handled by EMT personnel, are not on gurneys/stretchers and are being "manhandled" in the rush to get them out, it appears this shot was clearly taken while the shooter(s?) were still active in the building.

I'm just catching up with this thread now. My first thought in looking at this picture was "what if one of those kids was someone I knew?" The girl looks OK but the second person (I'm assuming its a boy) doesn't look too good.

I am thinking about a couple of questions...where was he for 2 hours and 15 minutes. In a class, getting more ammo. what. Also who did he shoot in the dorm. A girl and a guy or who. Then also why did he target Norris wonder if it was a certain classroom or the whom Norris building.

What a sad heartbreaking senseless tragedy . My heart and prayers go out to all those involved, those who have heard from their student or friend and those who haven't as of yet.

So very difficult to believe this is actually happening at VT...such a wonderful school, beautiful campus and nice town. We send our loving children off to college with such high hopes, never dreaming of a terrible tragedy happening. Makes you wonder if anyone is really safe anywhere.

All I can think is about how heartbreaking it must be for those kid's families and friends. My son is an engineering student at another major university and despite all the shootings that have happened in schools across the country, I never for a moment thought he'd be anything but safe in class. As an engineering student myself, I know the kids are all absorbed in their studies or scrambling to keep up, so why should anyone think anything could happen.

I'm counting my blessings right now for 3 healthy, happy kids. Eyes are watering for the families of the kids and professors that have been involved in this tragedy.

They said a few minutes ago on Fox News that it was a male and a female in the dorm.

According to the press conference they just held, the representative said that the doors were chained from the inside. They don't know if it was something accessible on the doors left by the school itself that he used or if he brought the chain in himself.

I watch very little - it's vulturistic and irresponsible journalism at it's finest. :rolleyes
