This is our first trip to WDW. I have read so many posts and have enjoyed them so much. Now I have my own question...
Each of us only has one pair of tennis shoes to wear. How do you wear them everyday and keep them dry? Or what do you do about shoes? I have been looking for a pair of sandals but I am afraid they won't be comfortable and I can't spend $50-$100 on shoes right now? Please help...any ideas??

First I would have another pair of tennis shoes as well as a pair of sandles. The first thing I want to do when I get back to my room is get my tennis shoes off. If I go anywhere other than the parks I wear sandles.
I always have an extra pair of Tennis shoes also so that I can change if they are bothering me. ( or get wet.):)

I switch between my sandals, my flip flops and my tennis shoes. After two days in the park with my tennis shoes I threw on my Speedos flip flops for the rest of the week. I'd use Shower to Shower or Corn starch to keep the moisture buildup down in my shoes.

Also, there is nothing worse than getting on a water ride and getting your socks and tennis shoes wet. Walking around in those all day is disgusting.

Welcome to the Dis!

Do you have a Gander Mountain near you? I found a pair of sandals like the Teva sandals that everyone was raving about on here for $25.00 and they are great. I must have driven the salespeople nuts changing from Teva's to this brand but I had to see if they would work.

After going back and forth, this other brand (sorry, it's in my bedroom right now and DH is sleeping) this $25 brand had better support. And Teva sandals run around $50-$60 (I think) So I got them instead.

They are great, they are comfortable even when wet and I wore them all around Blizzard Beach. Fantastic with all the walking up steps there.

Also, I took them to the local amusement park Saturday and after we were done with the wet rides, I changed clothes and switched to cotton socks and my New Balance tennies. It felt great and I may consider doing that next time in WDW (got a stroller to carry all this stuff in)

Hope this all helps! I wish I could remember the name of the brand. I think it was some generic brand of sport sandal.

A good place to review shoes (and buy them) is zappos.com. I actually got this tip from someone on this board. After doing some searching there I purchased a pair of Propet walking sandals for $30. I wear them all the time and absolutely love them. They are the most comfortable sandals I have ever owned and I get all kinds of compliments and questions on them. Good luck!

We also have sneakers(athletic shoes) and sandals. We switch off during the day. Especially if we know it's going to rain. And since we're going in August, we know it's gonna rain late afternoon. Then I wear sandals...the water-proof kind. But, a solution for those wet sneakers...stuff them with newspaper at night. They will be a lot drier in the morning.
