shoes

:goodvibes Gel insoles are amazing. They wont take the edge off completely when you are on your feet all day but they do help. I can't wear a pair of shoes without them anymore.

Something else that can really help is to take a motrin or something before going to bed at night. My feet would be ready to go the next morning. I also got into a habit of taking a hot bath at night at the hotel, lol. Felt good on my feet, legs, back, everything.

I did that each night, but half way through the day my feet were killing me. I made it through each day. The things we do for disney.

You say you workout daily.... I'd suggest that you just wear the same shoes you use to work out. You don't want to wear shoes you have never broken in, and you don't want to buy shoes or crocs only to find out, after the first day you are there, that they give you blisters! ;)

I wear my new balance or my shape up flip flops which both have arch support. I will have to look into crocs. I guess I have to get over how ugly they are.

Try the maryjanes!! They aren't that bad looking...and r oh so comfy!!

since my feet are size 11:scared1:I try to never wear big ugly shoes. I wear sandals and always have a pedicure. :lmao:

I have really bad feet - have had three surgeries. I have spent so much money on good walking/tennis shoes and still ended up with blisters every time. Back in November when the weather was so hot, I decided to wear my cheapo $7 flip flops I bought at Mervyns a few years ago. My feet felt relative GREAT even after 5 days! I couldn't believe I wasted so much money on fancy shoes. I am heading back to DL in a month and I am afraid it's going to be too cold for my flip flops. Maybe I need to try some crocs...I'm just afraid of wasting more money.

I swear by Merrells. I wear the clogs in winter and sandals in summer. They are the best.

Try some crocs. They have since said that sandals or flipflops are actually better for your feet because they are flexible. We are not meant to wear shoes, so a flip flop is the closest thing to barefoot. The crocs have little nubs that kind of massage your get while you walk and have a built in arch. My feet always hurt until I started wearing them. Ask a nurse what she wears now, or waitresses. They have given up their tennies for crocs.

unfortunately, I can't wear crocs. I bought a pair and tried to wear them in the parks, and they really hurt my feet. They are just too wide for my narrow foot, and don't have enough arch support for me. I think they are actually sort of cute, too!

I usually wear a pair of Merrell sandals in the warmer months. The kind that have adjustable straps with velcro. The other sandals that I wear and feel great are made by Keen--they are called Keen Catalina, and also have velcro adjustable straps:http://www.rei.com/product/767675

In colder months I wear Mephisto:

with "walking socks"--which are socks that are made to prevent blisters. You can buy these socks at walking stores or ortho shoe stores.

Flip flops are actually not good for your feet when you are walking a lot. They don't provide the support necessary for your foot, arch and ankles. I know people love them, and I have been known to wear them at DL too, so I get why they are a popular choice.

I have some sandals very similar to the Merrell and they hurt my feet. The Mephisto looks interesting, but there is no way I can pay $165 for a shoe and hope it works for me. For some reason, I ALWAYS get a blister on the inside bottom of my baby toe on my right foot. The only time I have not gotten a blister is wearing my flip flops. If I didn't think my podiatrist would laugh at me, I would seriously consider voluntary amputation of the baby toe on my right foot. It just causes me problems and serves no purpose!

I think the best way to avoid blisters is to wear really good socks (I have one pair that cost a lot for a pair of socks--but I swear they are worth their weight in gold because they avoid blisters like no ones business!), and keeping your feet dry. It can help to put antipersperant on your feet to keep them from sweating in the parks. I have never tried it, but my husband swears by it.

Those shoes I linked to were not Merrells--they are made by Keen. They really feel great, even after hours of walking, and I don't ever get blisters from them, thankfully. The Merrells I have are much uglier!

Here is an article about wearing crocs that is interesting--they even mention wearing them to walk in Disneyland!

We also wear Crocs to the Parks. To avoid blisters at Disney or anywhere, we also use Monistat Chafing Relief Powder-Gel on our feet. Although it was originally made for bikini area chafing, dimethicone is the active ingredient and it works great. It also makes an excellent makeup primer.

Those crocs look cute. I will have to try a pair.

I love, love, love my Keen sandals. They are closed in enough with the toe that you can get by with wearing socks under neath in cooler weather without looking too dorky! I always get blisters with runners and have never had any problems with Keen's stretchy material.
