I am trying to figure out what shoes to buy to wear for the week in the parks. I want to wear a couple of sundresses and am trying to think of something that would look good with those but still be comfortable through the parks. Any tips?

Don't break in the shoes on your vacation..... you will regret it. Walk hard one day with the shoes you plan to take and make sure your feet feel good.

I would worry more about comfort than style when it comes to my feet and walking 5-8 miles each day.

While not the most stylish things, we always wear Crocs to WDW. Your feet will thank you. There are tons of Crocs fans on this board. My DW actually has some cute Crocs. They make them in many different styles and they are the one shoe that doesn't have to be broken in, though you do need to make sure your feet hold up well in them by walking a bit with them.

I always wear flip flops and crocs to the park without any problem. I would wear flip flops with the sundresses, just make sure you break them in.

I have narrow feet, so it's always been hard to find good walking shoes. However, years ago I tried TEVA's. For my feet, TEVA's have been truly AMAZING. Never an issue, never a blister, never fatigue. And most importantly, there's not a "breaking in" period. Of course, they probably wouldn't be very pretty with your sun dresses;)

Has anyone tried Crocs Prepair, they seem designed so as not to tire your legs.

I love my Crocs flip flops, I think they are the capri style. I also just got a pair of Teva mush flip flops, and they are really comfy, too. That's what I plan on wearing with my sundresses. I have Keens for everything else.

I always wear sandals from lands end- can't stand the flip flops with the thing between your toes!
Make sure you're comfortable in whatever shoes you wear. Remember, you'll be walking on miles of asphalt (something we're not used to). It's best to have well broken in sandals with good arch support.
Side note... on Soarin' if you're wearing sandals, you have to take them off. I' love this! It feels so good to fly through the sky with no shoes on!

I wear Crocs Capris. The Prepair looks good, too but it looks like the upper is made from the same material as the rest of the shoe and that gave me blisters when I wore Athens.

I wore my Crocs Cleos for almost all of my 9 day trip and they were great. I also wore my Old Navy flip flops on a couple of days.

My last trip was CROCS all the time! It is the first trip my legs didn't hurt half way thru the trip!:cool1:

With all the walking everyone does at WDW, I would not attempt it in anything other than a good pair of walking/cross trainer/running shoes. Those types of shoes are designed for walking, which is what we are doing in the parks, or even more vigorous activity. DW is actually more adamant than I am. We are going to WDW in June. We bought our new shoes for Disney a couple of weeks ago so they will be broken in before we go.

I wore crocs 1 day of our last trip - only 1. Didn't work out for me. I like Teva's and Birkenstocks.

my wife had a pair of Crocs Flip Flops - Athens is the name of them, she said they were awesome!

I also think that good pair of walking/cross trainer sneakers is the best foot ware to use. Of course make sure that whatever you use, is well broken in. I was convinenced by DW to try sandals for WDW and I did use them for several days, but not for the sustained walking done in the World. I developed blisters on both feet, went to the Nike outlet store bought a pair of X trainers and suffered somewhat the rest of the trip, ( I didn't complain to DW)

Old Navy flip flops are the only flip flops I can wear multiple days in the park without getting blisters, etc. They wonderful and cheap.

Thanks everyone this has been really helpful. It helps getting multiple suggestions for certain ones. Last time we went to Disney I spit up weaing my sneakers with my Reef fanning sandals and I did pretty well. I will probably do that this trip too and wear sneakers when possible it's mainly when wearing a dress. I had been looking at the Crocs capris, Crocs Sassari and Teva mush but I was not sure if they would be comfortable for a week in Disney so it was nice to see a couple of them mentioned. Has anyone tried Crocs Sassari's?
