Shoes

Arnica gel is amazing! We used to have some but it ran out and I haven't been able to find it. My doctor told me about it. It sure helped with bruises and small burns- like when you touch the curling iron.

I wear Mephisto Niro's (they are a maryjane style walking shoe) because they have good arch support and fit my narrow foot really well. I have a hard time with shoes, because I need very good arch support, and so many shoes just don't have it.

I can't wear crocs--not enough support.

i've worn everything from vans slip ons to nike air's to new balance walking/running shoes and lots of other types such as converse allstars. i have weird feet and some orthopedic issues (minor) from when i was a kid. my feet tend to hurt faster than a lot of people's. i think new balance are the best if you plan on being there and walking around all day. they're light and comfy. i'm taking 2 or 3 pairs of different shoes to WDW in a few weeks so i can switch shoes each day.

For the person who mentioned the Curves shoes. my Fiancee sells Avon and she was looking in the book at a pair of those for WDW. they don't seem too bad for the price. how are they?

p.s. if you need Avon let me know :) hehe

LOL I have the Curves because I sell Avon too. :) I have a couple of pairs, the white ones with the purple accents aren't as comfy so I use them as my back up pair. I love the white ones with the yellow & green accents, those are the most comfortable shoes I think I've ever worn. I actually got those a few days before we left for DL July of 07 so I basically broke them in at DL and they were GREAT!! :) So ya, if anyone needs Avon let me know. LOL :)

I would suggest that you try the gel insoles too Mr Bungle, my DBF has Plantar Facitis (sp) and he swears by those things. :)

Personnaly, I have major foot problems and cannot seem to find anything that will work for me when alot of walking is involved (Disney vacations!). I tried all sorts of sandals, shoes, running shoes and at one point or another something will start to hurt. During my last California trip, I had brought 3 pairs of shoes and had to buy 3 more during my trip to try to stop the pain and even that didnt work. It wont stop me from going to Disney over and over again but I wish that i could find something comfy for my footsies.:sad2:

Jozy - Do you have custom insoles? My podiatrist made me some when my plantar faciitis was at it's worst. My husband has flat feet and used to get blisters every time we went to WDW (to the point we had to get him a wheelchair in AK). Now that he has his insoles, it makes a world of difference!

I ended up in flip flops from Target last time we were there, I was fine but it was only a one day trip.

I have black Mary Jane type walking shoes packed for this upcoming trip and my daughter is wearing pumas.

Crocs, all the way!

I just ordered a pair of brown Mary Janes for our trip next month. I wear them with socks when it's chilly and without all the other times. I also take an Excedrin (sp?) each morning.

You do have to watch the wear on the bottom of Crocs. Once they are worn down they become horribly slippery. New ones, however, have never given me any problems in the parks.

Ditto crocs-I pretty much wear them all the time now. I usually wear my Red Mickey ones, cleos when it's warm, or my black mammoths when it's cold, at DLR and WDW. My mom is also a Croc convert. Wears them most of the time. We also converted our 80 y/o dentist to them. His daughter says he wears them all the time. :cloud9:

Ditto about being slippery when they wear out on the bottom. My Chocolate/Cotton Candy Cleos are pretty much worn out. I almost slipped the other day on my drive when washing my car. They are very slippery when wet (and worn out)

Hoping Santa will bring me a new pair. :santa:

Hi! and thank you! Its so funny you mentionned that. Last night I had my first appointment at the podiatrist since I came back from my trip and after telling him all the trouble i had during my trip he recommended custom insoles. Apparently that all that pain comes from my bunions.

thanks for the advice :) i am going to check out the gels this weekend.

Had to add my two sense............ I love Keen shoes. The sandals are amazing and so comfortable. The sandals are made to get wet though takes a while for them to dry. I also have a pair of Keen Mary Jane shoes with are adorable and soooooo comfortable. A little pricier than croc's but by far the best shoes I have ever worn. They also have winter boots which I am trying to find for the cold Canadian winters.

Don't think me crazy, but I walked around WDW 3 times this year in Rockport flip-flops. My feet never hurt once. I always go to DL in them unless it is cool. Then I go in my Nike Air running shoes. ( I have a pair of Pegasus right now.) One thing that I especially like is my Spenko liners that I put in them. It makes the shoe much more comfy.
Wear what makes your feet and back happy during your visit. That is my whole agenda! Have fun!

We usually return to the hotel for naptime (DS4 and DH), and I usually switch shoes before we head back to the park. I usually wear tennies during the morning and crocs or flipflops in the evening. If there's a day I don't get to switch shoes, my feet ache and I make sure to wear a different pair the next day.

My one super-comfortable pair of flipflops died recently; they were a cheap no-brand kind I bought in Hawaii 10 years ago, so they had a good life. :rotfl:

I just ordered a pair of Crocs Capris to take on our trip; I'm hoping they'll be comfortable!
