Shoes, shoes, shoes!

I wore the Go Walk Sketchers, using the advise i got from this forum, on our last trip to Disney and they were the most comfortable shoes i have ever worn. I need a new pair. :)

I'll switch between my keens and Brook's running shoes. Get some moisture wicking socks and you are good to go.

Teva Tierra athletic sandals on really rainy days. Nike Free TR Fit 2 sneakers for less rainy days (although they did dry overnight on days they got soaked in the parks). Alternated these on my last two September WDW trips and had no problems.

I have Crocs, the unisex ones. They can be slippery when wet but they are very durable. The only time I get blisters is when I wear sneakers. I also bought a pair of Propet sandals for my next trip. They have an ankle strap and strap over the foot. They are suppose to be good walking type shoes.

I alternated between Keen Whispers and Teva Tirra's last Sept and it rained A LOT! Both were good for walking in the rain and not slippery and dried fine. My son (3yrs) wore Crocs or Keens. The Crocs can be a bit slippery when wet though....

The last time I went to DLR I wore my converse all four days with no problem. However, that was a few years ago, and they're older now (and so am I...) and I just can't wear them for walking anymore.

When I went to MK last month for the main part of the day I wore my Croc maryjane style shoes, which I love and are super comfortable and are my work shoes, however I wasn't thinking and wore them without socks for the first time...BIG mistake. Switched into my cheap Champion sneakers from target but those hurt like all get out.

So now i'm looking for something else. I've been really considering the Go Walks so it's good to see so much love for them here. They're a bit pricey for me but foot comfort is worth it. I'm on my feet all day at work and would like to start walking more, so a good shoe would be great.

OK here it is , I have a bad back, plantar fasciitis, server pronate and a bad knee. I have tried almost every quality shoe known. When I go to Disney my heals hurt so bad I just could not
stand it. Then A GOD SEND, HOKA ONE ONE , not cheap but the best I have had. Try them and thank me later. Oh some pronounce the one one as (O-nay, O-nay) means fly I think,
they are running shoes, heavy cushion.

OH for dry feet, keep a dry pair of socks in your back pocket they will sure feel good when the others get soaked.

I get blisters on the bottoms of my feet from plastic or rubber soles (Keens, Tevas, Sanuks, etc). I've found the best shoe for me are Merrell sandals. Supportive, lightweight, fast drying, and comfy. I alternate my shoes as well and also wear a pair of Sketchers memory foam "fashion sneakers". They're cuter than my running shoes but still very supportive.

I am trying some Columbia vented hiking shoes .. "Columbia Ventrailia" They basically look like a sneaker with a vented bottom (and a removable bottom inner lining )

They are breathable and have holes in the bottom of the shoe that should vent out the bottom. Can wear them with or without socks .. figure they would be good to survive an afternoon rain or Splash Mountain.

I haven't tried them out yet .. but figure I would give them a shot. I can't stand Crocs and I am not going to wear sandals .. as I don't feel they are supportive enough.

Yes, Flips Flops from the Dollar Store. (Sorry, I'm old and we use to call them thongs.....I realize that term is used differently now).

Hahaha!!! This reminds me of a funny story. When I was a kid...my Mom used to swat us with her "thongs"...meaning flip flops. I have told my kids this several times over the years. A few years ago I told the story again and my son finally said ...Mom, that is nasty. I cannot picture Grandma ripping her thong off and swatting people with it...that is just nasty....of course, he thought it was a "thong", the underwear type. So funny...he thought that for years. The younger generation doesn't understand I guess...haha

I live in my Sketcher Go Walks. Wearing them is like walking on a cloud :cloud9:
I currently have 7 pairs in 3 various styles.
My DH mentioned something about me needing a 12 step program for my Go Walk addiction:rotfl2:[/QUOTE

I've tried them on in the Sketchers store and they were heaven. I was just worried about arch support for 8-10 hours at a park.
If someone like me has quite good feet, do you think they would work for me? Thank you for replying.

The most comfortable flip flops for me in the parks are my Crocs vezzy flip flops. Good support, non slip when wet and they dry quickly. I alternate with my Keen Bali slides, Teva mush and crocs meleen sandals. I've had surgery on both my feet so I need something with support.
I also use Bandaid anti friction stick because the humidity and wetness from rain is not something my feet are used to. I got blisters last October when it rained all afternoon in Epcot one day. On our trip in May, none of us got blisters when we used the anti friction stick. It's like a tiny body glide stick and so small it fits in a bag or pocket easily. I highly recommend it no matter what shoes you chose.
Bandaid Friction Stick is the best invention ever made. Amazing product.

I have horrible back/knees/feet and I wear mine for 8 hours a day at work. I've also worn them at both Hershey park and Disney (Disney they were alternated with other shoes as I said before but they were worn at least 8 hours a day) they are my go to sneaker now

I have had great success with 3 different shoes: Theraflops (basically a version of fit flops), basic Tevas, and some waffle bottom North Face flops. The last were very thin and you wouldn't think would provide support and comfort but were excellent. I agree with some PPs that tennis shoes are not the way to go in the hot summer. I will add that I'm more on the Pooh size end and regrettably don't exercise a lot so all the walking we do at WDW is unusual. Any shoes that can support my feet and not leave me with tired legs and an aching back are winners! :D
