Shoes for a massive pre-teen??

my 15 yo wore her chucks every day last trip... and the trip before that if i remember correctly. i think kids are just are more resilient. but if you still want to look, Vans offers some higher end shoes that have more support and better padding.

How buying some Dr. Scholl's gel inserts? My hubby wears them in his dress shoes for work and he said they make a difference. I also have some inserts for my high heels and they help. Just an alternative to new shoes.

One thing you don't want to do with anyone really, is to buy a brand new pair of shoes and wear them the first time while walking around a theme park every day. Not unless you are prepared to deal with blisters. So,even if you bought your son a new pair of shoes, he probably won't wear them before the trip. I think you just let him deal with his shoes on his own.

Oooooh thats a fantastic idea, thank you!! He is definitely at the age where I wouldnt dare pick out his shoes for him so this would work! I appreciate your helpful response!

If he wears Crocs, then maybe he can pack those as well. We love those in the parks and he can use those as a back-up if his Converse start to be uncomfortable.

My DD loves Converse as well, and usually always wears them in the parks, alternating with gym shoes and possibly flip flops. My husband has Converse high tops and I bought him some insoles with arch support at CVS. He loves them and now can wear his Converse all day.

So, maybe buy some insoles, foam, arch support, gel.

Here is an issue! We are planning a surprise trip for our kids for October. My son has one pair of shoes he wears daily --- he's almost 15 -- and they're Converse high tops. I seriously doubt he will be able to wear those full days in parks all weeks. I have BEGGED him to let me buy him at least another pair of running shoes, claiming it's because of the new school year, but he says no unless it's another pair of Converse. He doesn't know about the trip obviously so I can't explain my reasoning, and he needs to try them on! He does wear Crocs on occasion (the originals). What to do?? He's 6'4" with huge feet so I can't just wing it!

Does anyone have any teen boys this age and can recommend a "cool" pair of WDW shoes I can just buy him to have or try to talk him into!?

They're pricey, but the new Chuck Taylor All Star II's are AMAZINGLY comfy. He could walk around all day in those, IMHO.
