This is a 2 part question.

1: Can water shoes be worn at the pools and at the water park? I will be at POP and PORiverside, not that i think where i stay matters. Can the water shoes be worn on ALL the rides in the water parks. im not sure which one will be open when i go in august is bith it will be the one with the roller/water ride.

2. Whats a good shoe to wear. NO i dont want flip flops, NO i dont want crocs. i prefer a traditional walking sneaker. Ill be there for 10 days and was thinking of buying two pairs, i need new ones anyways :) Also if you suggest a shoe brand if you could say places to get them wither it be walmart or dicks or parade of shoes, haha i just went old school, please let me know.

EDIT looking to spend around 50 bucks per pair.

A good shoe for me may not be a good shoe for you. Take the time to go to an independent running store (not Dicks or sports authority type) and get fitted by an associate for a walking shoe that fits your needs for your foot type! It makes all the difference in the world.

Water shoes can be worn at the resort pools and at the water parks. However, they cannot be worn on any of the slides at the water parks. The CM at the top of the water slide will ask you to remove them and hold them on your way down.

Water shoes- yes you can wear them at resort pool and water parks. In fact I def. recommend it, the pavement can get very hot in August. The roller water coaster is Crush n Gusher at TL, and you can wear water shoes on it. For some slides you have to take them off and hold them going down. I buy a cheap pair at Walmart or Target.

Park shoes, sorry, but can't help. In August I like to wear good flip flops or sandals with arch support like Sole, Reef, Merrill etc. my feet get too hot and sweaty in shoes & socks, in 90+ degrees out, and with the Daily afternoon shower, you'll be walking around in wet squishy shoes & socks. And on water rides.

When we go in winter I wear a good pair of runners, and bring 2 pair. I get fitted in a running store, where they look at your gait, and how you are walking in the shoes.

my dds use water shoes at POR every year. We never had problems. Can't help with water parks as we haven't been in almost 6 years.

As for park shoes, dh would say to not bring a new pair of walking shoes, bring something you are comfortable to wear already. He learned the hard way. I usually wear flip flops or a good pair of sandals that has gel in the sole. I can't stand wearing snickers or anything like that in the heat.

I have never had a good pair of shoes for 50$. I prefer NIKE or ASICS but they can be expensive.:thumbsup2

There are always several "what shoes should I wear?" threads running on the Theme Parks and Attractions board, check over there for more shoe suggestions than you could ever imagine. :thumbsup2

And I'll throw in a suggestion of my own....take a look at the Skechers Go Walk line. They have several styles of slip on shoes made of various materials - soft cloth, ventilated cloth, some sort of leather-like material. There's also a traditional sneaker/walking shoe. All are extremely light and comfy, and I think I've paid in the 50-60 range for the pairs I have.
