Shoe recommendations for happy hot feet

You might want to try Chacos. The have a great arch support, don't cover the toes, have a style that doesn't go between the toes and the straps are adjustable.

They look pricy.
I did just get a pair of these.....we'll see how they wear. I find even getting the same style, they don't always fit and feel the same. I hate have feet that are so sensitive. Oh and to add to the difficulty, I need wide

I bought a pair of Teva Mush flip flops and Atika Sport Sandals for myself as I can't stand my toes being covered either.
I got a pair of Teevas for my spouse and little kid Timberlands for our girls. Rather a pricy Amazon shoe shopping day, but comfortable feet will be so worth it for everyone.

I've never tried the keens but I'm very tempted--do the straps rub blisters? What about sizing-do they run true to size? I usually start my day in tennis shoes and switch to flip flops-teva mush are my faves.

I have never had any blister problems with my Keens. I will wear them with the tightener on the top loose or tight and still don't have rubbing or blisters. I get blisters very easily on my heel/achilles tendon but never from Keens. They are also super durable. I had mine first pair for about 2 years. I wore them almost everyday, even in the winter. I finally replaced them, because the sole on the heel was wearing through. I used to buy Tevas, but they don't seem to have enough arch support and they can be slick. I actually slipped in a pair several years ago and permanently scarred my knee on the pavement. The Keens are really good in the water; I love kayaking in them.

So I recently purchased the Keen Sarasotas, which have an open toe. I got them in the Indian Teal color. At first I wasn't sure about them as the soles are harder than my other Keens but I have been wearing them a lot and I really like them. On our last trip to WDW, I got terrible blisters on my little toes. I was in a LOT of pain. I ended up going to an outlet mall and I bought some Teva Tirras. I really like those as well and they saved my trip but on the last day I did develop a small blister where the straps cross. Chacos don't work for me but I wish they did. Now my foot problems - I have rheumatoid arthritis and it is bad in my feet, especially my left foot. I have a high instep, my feet pronate and my feet are wide, especially in toe area, which is exactly where the Keens are wider. I have a hard time finding the right shoes but when I do, I am willing to pay the money as I don't have much choice.

I alternate between Croc flips and Teva original mush. I did just get these but I haven't worn them too much yet. They are super cushiony.

Orthaheel Tide are my go to they are a flip flop style with a full arch support on the footbed so my plantar fasciitis specials just love them walk all day with no pain. Watch the videos for them on QVC for additional info be advised they run about $60 not cheap but I have had a pair for 3 years so that averages to $20 a year right!

I will take a look. It works better if the don't touch my toes at all, but those are hard to find.
I had a pair of Nikes I loved, but they fell apart while at WDW.....and so why always bring a couple pairs of shoes.
I have a second pair but the padding is wearing thin under the ball of my foot, so not good for long walking days.

Ohhh....just looked at those Tevas. They might work. I need to go to a store and try them and then look around online.

I heard such great things about Chacos so I tried them on when shoe shopping for my upcoming Disney trip. Sadly, they don't work for the shape of my foot. But my daughter's each got a pair and really like them.

I ended up with a pair of Teva Tirras. I don't like the way they look as much as the Chacos but they seem to be comfortable. Which is the #1 priority! I plan to alternate wearing them and a pair of Keen H2 Newports I already owned. Love my Keens but wanted a second option - and the Teva are a bit lighter, which might be nice. I'm also bringing some Skechers Go Walks - super comfy foot bed but they don't breathe so I'm not sure I'll wear them.

ETA: I have to wear shoes with heel straps when I do a lot of walking - otherwise my toes seem to get tired from gripping the front of the shoe to keep it from sliding forward. Anyone else have this issue?

I need help too. I prefer sandals......Keens don't work for me because my toes do not like being covered.
My favorites were Naturalizer BZee Beach, but they were discontinued
I can't have anything too tight on the tops of my feet.....that is my main problem. Everything rubs.
And no flip flops......nothing between the toes

What about Teva Hurricanes? My girls wear the kid version, but here is the ladies:

I adore my Keen Whisper sandals, and have them in 6 colors. They are very comfortable, can get drenched, then dry out quickly, and your feet will be happy!

I adore my Keen Whisper sandals! So very comfortable, and they can get drenched during those afternoon storms, then dry out quickly. We were at Animal Kingdom in May, we walked 14 miles one day (according to my Fitbit), and at the end of the day my feet felt great! Another Keens fan here!!!!

I actually was pretty amazed at how comfortable Keens are. I have fallen arches and have to have really good arch support. I haven't had any issues with either pair of my Keens sandals. These things have been worn everywhere too. Multiple WDW trips, DLR, Universal, 4+ mile hike in Hawaii, hiking in Austin and Santa Fe. I never thought sandals would be comfortable to hike in.

I just wanted to say THANKS to the Keens fans. In my quest for rainy-day shoes for next April, I did actually try on some Keens Whispers this morning. I haven't invested in them yet, but I really did like them, and I suspect I'll have to spring for a pair before next April.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. They are very durable, so the investment is worth it. My oldest pair have been demoted to outside work shoes, but are still in very good condition after 6 years of hard wear. The hardest part of buying Keens for me is, choosing the color!

Oh, I've already got an eye on my color! I tried them at - ahem - "Richard's" Sporting Goods, and they had the "dark shadow / ceramic" ones: gray with light blue accents. (They also had the "coffee"/neutral brown ones if I want to be logical, but I really like the gray/blue.)

Once you find a pair you like check Amazon or Shoebuy. There are more color options online and I can usually get them cheaper (Shoebuy has 12% back on ebates right now).

Everyone is different, but I love my Go Walks. They are the only comfortable shoes I can wear.

I've got both of those, and I actually do wear the blue ones a lot more often than the coffee.

I alternate between Keens (Venice H2) and Teva Tirras. The Keens have a bit more support but the Tevas are cooler. I also have. A pair of Teva Zirras that are great for dinner or a few hours in the park after a swim (not OK for all day but love them when my feet are really hot and/or swollen).

I absolutely can't wear the same shoes all day every day. My feet get way too sore so I either alternate day to day or wear one pair in the morning and something else in the afternoon.

Comfy but insanely hot! Nothing breathable about that shoe. I have them and not sure I could do a day in the parks in the summer - maybe in cooler temps. Might be the memory foam just makes my feet boil.

I was just at Dillards (Dept Store) at found some Ladies Keen Whispers on clearance for $49! It's not on their site so not sure if it was just my store or what.

I just bought some Nike Free Run 5.0 as my tennis shoe to alternate with. They are so light weight, cushy, good arch support (not flat) and breathable.

My feet sweat even in the winter in normal shoes, but I use good sturdy shoes, hiking boots with Gore-Tex, polypropylene sock liners and smartwool socks, and my feet stay dry all day. The polypro liners wick moisture away from your feet, and the wool then dissipates it astonishingly well. The Gore-Tex also keeps me from getting my feet wet on water rides.

I've read so many of these threads, and really I've discovered it's so hard to make recommendations because everyone's feet are so different. I cannot wear Chacos. I love how they look, and I have several pairs, but the high arch KILLS my feet after about an hour. Just cannot wear them. And it's a bummer because they are expensive and everyone else seems to love them.

Rainbows are okay for everyday errands, but I cannot do them for all day walking either.

My go-to flip-flops are Teva Mush and Sanuk Yoga Mats. I have a pair of sandals (not flip-flops) that I like okay: Teva Zirra Sport Sandals, but sometimes the straps will give me hives in hot weather. I think I've figured out that I need cushioned support but not necessarily arch support, and no tight straps!

I tend to overpronate and need good arch support. I have wonderful results with Clarks flip flops and also Brooks running shoes which are very light and breathable. The last few years at WDW I typically alternate these two types of shoes each day of the trip and have had no issues with blisters or foot pain.
