SHOCKING(lol) News!

Honestly, aren't most people sick of this movie yet? I know it will be a hit with the kiddos and I'm sure Disney knows it will make a huge profit but lordy...

Very :offtopic: But I love the quote in your signature - what is it from? Reminds me of the old Jack Handy from SNL

It's by comedian Mitch Hedberg (God rest his soul). To me he was one of the funniest comedians ever.

Now back to Frozen Poo....err....2.

Has any sequel ever been a really big hit?

???
28 of the Top 40 movies all time for Worldwide box office sales (not adjusted for inflation), are sequels. When Frozen 2 comes out, it will get added to that list. Included among that list are many Disney properties:

Marvel's The Avengers
Iron Man 3
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Toy Story 3
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End

and though not released by Disney, you could add in...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith

Sequels are a gold mine. Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 both out-sold the original Toy Story movie. Just as an example.

What annoying song will be stuck in people's heads this time??:rolleyes2

I hope it is a Battle Royale between:

I'm sorry. I meant any Disney sequel. Toy Story and POC slipped my mind.

I have a huge princess fan and I was thinking of Ariel's Beginning and the Cinderella sequels.

As if we all didn't know this was inevitable. So what took them so long to announce this non surprise? Or was this a way of justifying freezing DHS again all summer? :rolleyes2

My question (as I headdesk this news) is will it be the first theatrical sequel for Disney animation since The Rescuers Down Under, or will the Frozen Fad finally fade out and this be another direct-to-video like all the others from the almost cringe-worthy sequel era?

Those don't really count. I don't think they were theatrical releases, just straight to DVD type of things. Monsters University was good as well. Nemo is coming out with a sequel.
