I've done this before at other hotels but this year will be my first time doing it at WDW
I called the resort (WL) for our October trip with that same question and the answer I got was that you make arrangements with either the front desk or the conceirge to give them the package.
With the extra bag charge from the airlines were shipping a box of our stuff to the resort. We're bringing car seats and unfortunately they'll be checked in as luggage(not going to use them on the plane) so we can't get around the extra bag fee. Since I have to pay extra I might as well have them deliver a bunch of clothes and non perishable/non breakable food items right to the hotel.
You can go to ups.com and create a shipping account.
Under their quick links sections if you go to Time and Cost you can get a good idea of how much it will cost you if you now how much weight your box will be. I played around with a few different weights...not too bad from New England. This part was great...they also tell you how many business days it takes to deliver from your zip-code to the resorts( 3 days from Boston). I know from work they are about 99% on time. The web site also lets you print a return label as well. I also ordered the free shipping pouch(#171604) to put my label in going down and coming back...don't forget to pack tape to seal the box for the return!!
The website also will give you drop off information. We have a Staples about two miles away that is a UPS drop off center.
I would recommend sending the package(s) so they arrive a day or two before you do. When you address the label do it in this fashion:
your name
resort name
street address
HOLD FOR GUEST your name
CHECK IN DATE...
city, state zip
It's a good idea to write HOLD FOR GUEST and your name &
CHECK IN DATE... in a permanent marker on the box as well.
Tips that might save you a couple dollars.
If your employer has a UPS account see if you create a label under that account and reimburse them for the cost. Business accounts have cheaper list rates and most have discounts as well.
UPS Stores cost more and some do a high pressure sales pitch to buy the packaging from them
Drop off if you can as pickup cost more.
Good Luck!!
