Shipping Things Early

Does anyone know if you can ship something to your resort before you get there to avoid having to bring things on the plane? We would love to send a stroller ahead of time to use it while we are there. I know you can bring strollers onto the planes and all but there is a specific one we want that we can't seem to get in Canada and we were hoping to purchase it on-line and have it shipped to our hotel. Anyone know if this is doable?

only thing is you also need to put your name, check in date ect on the shipping label. I wouldn't do it too far ahead of time or check with your specific resort to see how long they are willing to hold something like that. It is a rather large item to have there for too long.

We shipped our clothes prior to our December trip last year and it was GREAT!!!!! No lines at the airport, we just jumped in the town car and had our driver deliver us to the Contemporary. The only suggestion I would make is to be sure and get shipping grade boxes, both of ours weighed approx. 50 lbs. each, and UPS beat them up getting there. Luckily my wonderful DH had thought ahead and actually packed the extra boxes broken down on the inside of the shipped boxes so we had a way to get them home. This time we have heavier boxes so hopefully the UPS ride will go a little smoother. All in all, it was WAY better than worrying about lost luggage at the airport. Call your resort ahead of time, and they can help you with info needed on the boxes. Also, we are in the same shipping zone as Orlando, so the shipping cost was reasonable, we were able to ship them ground. Air freight would have been very cost prohibitive. Check with your shipping company for a quote.

slightly OT but maybe you all will know. . .

I don't want to ship down a box, I want to hand deliver one 12 days early to be there when I arrive???

DH and I will be staying at POR for our anniversary on Sept. 3-6, flying home for 12 days and returning to the POLY with our 4 kids . . .I will have extra suitcase room for the little "suprises" I have picked up for our kiddos and would like to have their "suprise packages" all ready to go and just have to bring them up to room once we check in??

On the Sept. 3-6 trip I will be shopping for a few things to add to these packages. . .

any ideas? who I might contact directly?

Call the resort directly. If you can't find the number call CRO and they will give you the number. I doubt it will be a problem.

This is what we did. Concierge at the Contemporary gave us all info to place on the label and we had no problems.
