Can anyone help?

Has anyone shipped items to the resort rather than taking it with them?

We are going to be taking carry on only luggage and so are stuck with liquid restrictions.

Has anyone shipped things like sun cream. shampoo etc and did they have any problems doing this?

Who did you use to ship it? I read on other threads on the US section that people use UPS etc

sorry but why would you only take carry on for a trip to florida? why not just check one bag with everything you need in it

it wsa a simple question sorry for asking.

But I will answer yours we are taking carry on only so that we can go shopping there. We got stung with extra weight charges so wanted to travel lighter there.

I have bought there before but we are not going to hire a car and I would rather not risk being able to get things at the resort.

i wasnt trying to be funny just only heard of this for like ryan air flights

who are you flying with? we fly with virgin and have 2x23kg each thats alot of baggage

We do want to help you - I hope our answers aren't patronising. I think that unless you prefer a particular brand you will be able to buy most toiletries from the hotel gift shops (I know I've had to buy suncream from a Disney hotel gift shop - on my first trip I thought one tube would last 4 of us for a fortnight!!).

Or stock up at the airport once you've cleared security.

If you are shopping anyway you could bring your things as checked in luggage in an almost empty case - or put your small case in a larger case and use it as a carry on bag on the way home. Shipping toiletries seems to be an unusual option.

I think rather than shipping your toiletries you would be cheaper to do an order for a grocery delivery from someone like gardengrocer. You can order online and they will deliver to your resort for a small fee., $12 I think. They have a large range on their website.

Thankyou

We are flying with BA but we have to go between Heathrow and Gatwick and I have never done this so a bit nervous. (we are not away til aug but the planner in me is freaking out:scared1:) So we were going to take carry on to save having to wait for our bags and eat into our transfer time. We have had problems just getting between one terminal and another before so just want to avoid this on our way there. T5 when it first opened :scared1:

We were planning on buying a cheap suitcase to take on the way back. I have thought about buying stuff in the resort (never been onsite Disney) but have no ideas what brands they stock. Plus sensative skin and all means that I am worried that new brands might cause a reaction.

Maybe we will end up just checking a bag.

Thanks for that will have a look there. But it might be less hassle than I thought just to check a bag in.

Hi, you certainly have more than a few options...which is good:)

1. Box up all the stuff you want to have on your trip. Bring it to either, post office (they do ship internationally), UPS, fedex or DHL. Ship to your resort. Before you do this call them and find out if they charge to recieve packages, this has been happening so know what you are getting into. Some companys even deliver suitcases although I am sure you will get nailed on fees.

2. Use the stuff either in the room or buy at resort shop. I have super sensitive English skin and all the stuff at the resort was fine.

3. Check out Gardengroccer or wegoshop and see how much stuff you actually need to purchase. The advantage of this is that you can also order water etc....

4. Buy everything you need after you go though security at the airport.

5. Check you luggage, I know this isn't what you want but it may end up being the cheapest option.

I hope you figure it out and have a great trip.

You could check in one case with another case or bag inside and then inside just put in your toiletries etc then when you have finished with your suncream etc just bin whats left so its not eating up your weight allowance on the way home.

And if you are struggling for weight on the way home consider shipping a parcel home.

It'd cost a fortune to ship toiletries like shampoo to the US, especially by a courier like UPS so I wouldn't do this if at all possible.. Personally I would either check a bag and just take what you need for your trip so you can throw the dregs away at the end or order online as others have suggested :)

We have considered changing from Gatwick to Heathrow before and have read all the threads so I know what your up against, and why you would rather not have to check a bag. If you decide to go with Garden Grocer but they don't have what you want listed online don't worry, as they will be able to pick up most any item, just message them with what you would like. We have used them 3 times now and found them to be very good, plus it does save a bundle to have a few cases of water on hand as well.

Good luck :)!

Yes the whole idea of changing airports just leaves me well and truly freaked out. :scared1: Think we might check in one bag and just see how we go on the way back it won't be a problem *** we will know where to go etc. I did make sure that we left more than the two hours they advised for transfer just in case.

Thanks for your reply :goodvibes
